Pete never used the PS Tour 90 officially. He used it on 2003 when he was preparing for Wimbledon, but we all know that he retired at the begining of the USO 2003-

It's a paintjob on a Prostaff 6.0 85, they had it for sale at TW a long time ago, wish I would of gotten those.

19 crosses, long handle, 5 crosses through the pws... maybe a real T90, at least not a PS85 pj

I disagree: first, check out the larger PWS on that racquet and second, look at the headsize - definately 90".

According to Nate Ferguson, when Pete was training in 2003, he had switched to the Tour 90 and was hitting better than when he was with the PS 85. The pics that are going around with Pete @ UCLA practicing are him using the Tour 90. I think there was a thread about this a long time ago.

the pallette looks a lil shorter than the regular tour 90...maybe he takes some weight off the handle for manuveribility just like Federer's

Where are these pics? I am dying to see what he looks like now, and what his racket is.

Sampras still in the rackets

TENNIS legend Pete Sampras, quite possibly the GOAT (greatest of all time), promises that he will look pretty much the same when he comes out of retirement for an exhibition match at River Oaks Country Club next month as he did when he was winning all those Wimbledon titles in the '90s.

OK, maybe he's a little thicker in the middle and a little thinner up top.

"Hey, I was losing my hair when I was still playing," he said, laughing. "That's the result of heredity and stress."

Tennis fans will notice one big difference: Sampras has ditched the Wilson Pro Staff mid racket he used his entire career.

"I'm actually trying a bigger racket. I used a small racket my whole time on tour. But now I'm an old guy, I need some extra power. I'm using the racket that (current No. 1 player) Roger Federer uses. I don't even know the name of it — I know it's red, that's all."

Federer's (and now Sampras') racket is the Wilson nCode nSix-One Tour 90.

{Pete, didn't anyone ever tell you about paintjobs? I know you never used one, but...}

Thanks for that, Fee. It's gonna be weird seeing Sampras with another racquet though...

I am not convinced. I think he will be using a different racket than the nCode and no, not in the sense of a pj.

Wait a second!! All Sampras said was that he's using the same racquet that Federer uses, and as we all know, Federer does NOT use a real nCode nSix-One Tour 90. So it could be that Wilson is just giving Pete the same paintjob racquet that they give to Federer, i.e., a PS 6.0 88 or a paintjobbed PS 6.0 85. Should be no problem to give a few to Pete as they likely have a pile of them in reserve or they could just make a few more of them. That's probably why Pete didn't know the name of it - because it doesn't have one! It's likely a custom made racquet! :D

That's the biggest news I've heard for a long times. Pete might use an ncode 90. :D

See? He's even ready to pimp-slap Federer back with his own racquet!! http://www.fightbeat.com/forums/images/smilies/2.gif
