I am a beginner at tennis and I don't know basically anything about tennis, although I am really good at tennis I don't know how hard I hit but is there anyway that I can see how hard I can hit is? its just that I need to buy a racquet and because I was reading one of the other threads and I was thinking allot about what people wrote and yeah I have no idea and by the way I live in NZ and if there is any NZ'ers reading this and you can help or anyone else then I would like to thank you for responding to this message.

Why do you want to see how hard you hit? So you can buy a racquet that matches your swing speed? Racquets have that just as a guide, just demo a few racquet and which one you like it.

This would be better suited in the racquet section. But if you ever have any questions about tennis tips/instruction feel free to ask here, but first check out the sticky which most likely contains your question.

Just demo some racquets and see what you like. There's no formula for the perfect racquet.

Welcome to tennis Patsta...... basically the best thing for you to do is what everyone here is telling you: DEMO!

Go to your local pro shop (assuming there is a tennis shop where you live) and ask if they have pros in-store or local pros who can help you determine what kind of racquet you should be using. Usually they charge like $5 if they do some kind of group demo thingy, but if you just talk with them and befriend them, I'm sure they won't have a problem pointing you in the right direction free of charge.

That said, I hope you enjoy tennis! :-D

Heya and thanks for your replies and theres no tennis shop where I am, the closest is a shop called Rebel Sports, I don't know if you have got that shop in America or not but thats the closest we have where I am

oh ok then, I am just going to buy a cheap racquet so I can try it out and if I don't get into the sport then it wouldn't do much damage to my pocket :D
