I recently played a good match against someone who place the ball well and had me running. When I really sprint for a ball, and step out with the foot closest to the ball to plant it, it slides a bit. I'm moving pretty fast on the court so maybe I'm just not aware of how my footwork is but is it because I'm losing traction on my shoes? Because sometimes when I hit with an open stance I slide when I want to plant, and load my weight into the shot. Is this a shoe problem or a footwork problem? I'm thinking it's a footwork problem because all shoes eventually slide though right?

This is the shoe I'm using. It's known for it's good traction and I've only had it for a bit over a month. I play everyday, 20+ hours a week.

Well, a good way to check if your shoes is wearing down. Look at the sole. If you see that the grooves have started to disappear a bit. Then yes you are losing traction.

It could be footwork...it could be your shoes. You gotta remember it's not that you've had the shoes for a months, its say you've already loaded about 80 hours onto them. My shoes don't normally last more than a month or two, because I play 6 days a week.

Is your shoe the T10? I had the same problem. My game is tracking down every shot, and it didn't help that I would fall down after having to run down shots. I also had the problem with the NB 820s. I have now gone back to shoes that don't have a interruption in the herringbone in the inside front of the shoe. Currently wearing the Nike Resolve Plus, and have had success with Reebok Figjams and the Nike Resolve.
