Can somebody please explain to me the advantages/disadvantages between a racquet from the M-Fil line and its brother from the G line? for example, M-Fil 200 vs 200G, M-Fil 300 vs 300G, etc...

ok, well this is what i heard from a dunlop representative, all of the m-fil racquets are basically the same as the G series. They thought they were losing sales because there paintjobs were "shiny" and "cool". So the just painted them differently and wallah the m-fil series.

I owned and played with both, and the only thing that's similiar is they're both light, with the mfil heavier in the head. The G has a harsh feel, while the mfil has more of a soft ( buttery ) feel with more flex.

Haven't tried the MFIL-200 but I use a HM 200G, I like it a lot, great control racquet at a cheap cheap price.

i have a friend who switched from the 300g to mfil 300 and says he wishes he hadn't switched because the mfil is more powerful and doesn't feel as good

that's just his opinion, though

I tried a demo of the 300G a few years ago & loved its feel, but just couldn't generate enough pace. I recently switched from a Head racket to the mFil300. The mFil still has the feel I loved with the 300g, but has just enough additional power for my liking. It is not as head light, but plays very well. I play an all court 4.0 game, and don't rely mainly on power, but need enough pace to get some cheap points occasionally. The mFil 300 has been a nice fit for my game

so basically, an m-fil is a g with more power/less control.

Control with the mFil300 is not a problem. As for power, it has more than the old 300g but not as much as a Pure Drive. It is well worth a demo

The 300g already has pleanty of power, so if that's not the issue, i would get a 300g, they're cheaper. As for the comment about it being "harsher" than the m-fil, stick a sampras o-vibration dampener on it and it feels perfect.
