I just purchased a used POG OS (older single green stripe variety). The racquet looks to be in excellent condition. The only thing I noticed where what looked like scratches on the throat near the stabilizer bar. They look very superficial, almost like a blemish in the coating on the racquet. The paranoid side of me wants to ask to see if anyone has had experience with a POG cracking there. Realistically, they certainly look like little scratches and not cracks - I just got it strung and the stringer said the racquet look fine. Anyone ever see a POG crack there?

You can get replacement butt caps here that are pretty close:

It doesnt' look like they have replacements for Prince with a trap door, but if you don't use it, it's no big deal. Older POG's had no door anyway.

I do have a slight crack on my POG because I'm not a gentle person - I hit hard and flat. POG is a great stick. If I would want to switch sticks, it will be a O3 Tour.

I started using the POG mid in 1990, had 3 of em strung up at 63 lbs, then 5 years later, one of em started feeling weird. I then noticed a hairline crack at the throat, and knew it was over for that stick. I've never thrown or abused a racquet, so it was graphite fatigue that caused the crack. I immediately sold the other 2, then went to a 95 sq in Prince stick---all of em have lasted for 10 years now, no problem.

I have a POG MP with 1987 written on it.

Where the stabilizer bar makes contact with the "frame" there is very thin crack on both sides.

But I am pretty sure that it is only the paint and not the graphite that is cracked.

This sounds exactly like mine - I would think it would take an awful lot to crack one of these things...
