Right, recently I have been finding that I have been awake enough and really wanting to play tennis (as usual - i am 15 by the way!) But just really haven't had the energy. I really don't know why! I have been making sure I have been getting at least 9 hours of sleep a night - I eat very healthily and am on a Carbohydrate majority nutrition program. I have been on a training program for a long time now and last week I took it off and just played the odd tennis match.

This and last week however, I have found that I just haven't had the energy to play tennis at all. No matter how much I want to play I get to the courts and feel really heavy and struggle.

I would say my fitness is more than ok for my age. I have been interval running for over 6 months now and before last week I felt that there had been a major improvement in my stamina and my speed but the past couple of weeks I have just been really tired!

So, I am asking you, firstly, can anyone tell me why? Secondly, what can I do to change this?

Thanks,

J

Try cutting out an hour of sleep each night. Try getting at last eight hours instead of nine.

How much water and protein is in your diet?

I probably don't drink enough but will increase that this week to see how it goes. Between 15-20% protein.

Right I think the problem was just simply that because I had slowed down on playing and completely cut out my circuirt, weight and stamina/speed training it made me feel more tired when I came to do it again.

I have restarted my entire training program so I will just have to see how it goes now!

Thanks for the help,

J

I have no clue what your problem is, but I did listen to a George Bush speech last night, and this is Easter weekend, so this is what the Gods tell me:

1. You aren't getting enough protein; are you a vegan?
2. Since you aren't getting enough protein, you probably are not getting enough iron; if you are female, you are probably very low if you don't supplement and have been doing this crazy diet for very long.
3. If you had a Tanita Ironman BodyScan scale it would tell you your body water percentage, which could be low. I try to keep mine between 50 and 56%. I have the scale though. :) I don't think that scale is easy to get in the UK. If you live near The Village of Rusper, feel free to come by and try mine. I'm visiting the UK and have it here. (necessary training tool)
4. Intervals? Once a week? Twice a week? Intervals are very hard on the body and to be doing them when you aren't getting enough protein is insane, IMHO.
