Today during a lesson I got two blisters. One I got on the bottom of my pinky while serving. The other one, which is much bigger and painfull I got in the bottom right side (a bit under my thumb) from doing backhands. The second blister sucks because when ever I hold something, it touches the blister. Both times the blister has were caused becaused my racquet slipped and the bottom of the handle sliced my skin. I have often had this happen, just without the peeling of my skin. Could this happen because my racquet grip is too small?

A blister comes from constant rubbing. If it slipped and sliced your skin, thats more like a cut :p

If you racket is slipping in your hand, you may want to:

1- Replace the grip - Is your grip worn out? Does your grip slip because of sweat on your hand?

2- Check TW's guidelines on grip sizing to see if your grip is too small: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/LC/Gripsize/Gripsize.html

-Maybe demo a racket with a bigger grip to see if it turns in your hands as easily.

I had put a new tourna grip on awhile ago. And I will put on a wilson over grip which is a bit thicker and see what happens. Hopefully my blisters dont hurt me in my club championship tourny on saturday. Thanks for the help.

They just gotta toughen up. Put a little hydrogen peroxide on them so they don't get infected.

I had that problem a few years ago. One of my friend's dad builds houses and actually does the brick laying. He told me to open the blister, build a little pile of salt, and hold the open blister in the salt for as long as you can. He said it burns like hell but takes out all moisture and toughens up you hands. He told me I would be "good to go" the next day.
I never did it but I thought I'd pass it on. Good luck.

scez. had that sort of prob when two-fingered serving, thumb/fore-finger. Try Yonex Supergrab OG and cover your blisters. Need to toughen up yer hands, got so many callouses now, use em as new jack potholders, get em so rough, so tough, like livin gloves.

hahaha, i like that salt idea. Try it! jus joking. well if you had a bigger grip size, it would mean that more of your hand would contact more area of the grip allowing more friction and so most likely it won't slip out again. Maybe check if you're holding your grip TOO loosely, its good to keep it loose, but holding it weakly isn't good.

I know that when I got my blister serving it was because I tried to do a crazy spin serve and I probably didnt hold the grip tight enough so it slipped. I doubt I will try that salt thing :p but thanks anyways.
