Hey, over the last 2 weeks i've suffered with some shoulder pain.... I've taken coaching lessons so that i would reduce the chance of injury and get good technique.... I warm up and always ease into play.... The pain happens mostly when i elevate my arm above the shoulder(After playing, only slight twinges when i'm actually playing).... But it's more like a tension, stiffness and tenderness than intense pain... Any ideas what i've done and what way i can go about rectifying this... I wil be going to see my college doctor A.S.A.P. But in the meantime any advice....?

My shoulder trouble began with similar indications. I tried to play through the symptoms, but my game just suffered b/c of it. I went to a PT clinic and after 8 weeks of 2x a week sessions, my shoulder had regained its full range of motion. They said that my upper back had to get stronger to even out with the rest of my upper body. Along with streching exercises and regular, light weights, my shoulder feels good now. I would suggest trying to go see a PT about it after seeing your college doctor. Godd luck and speedy recovery.

rest, then start surgical tubing exercises, in all directions, to have the shoulder balanced everywhere (15-30 reps, up to 3 sets, gradually)
