Besides rest, or a cortisone shot, are there any other approaches to treating TE/GE -- accupuncture, chiropractor, fairy dust, whatever -- that anyone has tried? Did it work or not work? Interested in hearing any one's thoughts on alternative treatments.

Ultrasound treatments have worked for me. It took about three treatments a day for the first week. Three weeks later I'm at one treatment after I play. I bought my own utrasound unit from the great auction. PT is way too expensive.

I really don't think that one can get away without rest.

How does the ultrasound work? What is the actual treatment procedure -- do you attach something to your arm? -- and what is the theory behind why it might be effective?

This looks gimmicky to me. I'd suggest relief and using alot of ice on the sore area instead.

I can tell you from experience ultrasound works. I recently tried, rest, TE exercises, and a dose pack of methylprednisolone with little succes. I then purchased a 1mhz, 1watt/cm2 ultrasound unit from the great auction. After a week to a week and a half of 3-a-day ultrasound treatments I was hitting again. I now use ultrasound therapy only after I play and only if it hurts. All I can say is ultrasound therapy worked for me.

I agree with jhp49. I got a few sessions with a Chiro. and then bought my own and it does helps.
