I've been using a BioFoam roller recently everyday to loosen up perpetually knotted hamstrings. Man does this thing work great. It's called selfMyofacial release and it works about as well as a deep tissue massage. You can use it on almost every part of your body and it also works as an exercise device and for balance training. it's cheap too. If anyone is interested, I can drop a url into this thread with a good source or just Google it.

NoBadMojo where do you find these things?

I dug a 30 ft trench with a pick axe yesterday (felt like one of the dwarfs)and I can tell you that my glutes and hamstrings could use some TLC.

Tell me more!

Which one of the dwarfs do you feel like? Trenchy? ;O
I have this one (the roller not the babe) ---> http://www.performbetter.com/detail.aspx_Q_ID_E_4681_A_CategoryID_E_363

I could have been Filthy the dwarf. Sleepy, Grumpy, Dopey, Filthy...

When my husband got home from work he just stood there and stared in disbelief. It wasn't so shocking that I had actually dug this stupid trench, but I was covered in mud from head to toe. I'm sure it's the filthiest I've been in a long time, and that's saying a lot!

Interesting web site, although I think I will stick with a volleyball for massaging the hams and glutes.

Hey Mojo, I think I know who led you on to this roller. ;) Works great, doesn't it? Check out triggerpointbook.com. Similar stuff, but for the rest of your body. A Theracane and/or a tennis ball can do for your back and shoulders what the foam roller does for your legs.

I dont seem to have any troubles at all with my upper body and my hammies havent felt this good in years. How's the training sessions w. Paul going? You two about wrapping it up or are you ongoing w. him?

It's going very well, I love the training. I am continuing on and also writing him some software to automate a lot of what he does so that he can take on more clients.

Yes and yes. It will be a database application with lots of decision making. :) It should take a lot of the manual work out of generating workouts for clients and tracking their progress. I'm excited to see how it works out.

Great, thanks for sharing with us. I have tight hamstrings and even with daily stretching doesn't seem to get any better. I might just have to try this.
