Hip Injuries?

I recently my hip give out on me during a match. It has acted up in the past but not to the extent where I couldn't move my leg - began hobbling. The pain is on the out portion of the ball socket. It flairs up during my service motion. I know the ol saying for the elderly that once there hip goes - "take them out back and shoot em". Just wondering if anyone else had the same issue?
