I just saw that picture... doesn't look like the RQ 7 she was using earlier this year... looks somewhat like the Ti-80 with updated and paintjob

It's called RQS 11. 100 sq in, mid tapered shape.

Where do you see RQ 5 on the racquet?? It kinda looks like an RDS paint scheme in different colors

No, what you see as a 5 is an S. The name is RDS 11. I strung Martinas racket some days ago.
BTW: She uses (at the moment) Yonex Poly main and natural gut (Yonex or Babolat) cross. Strung at about 26/24 kilo.

Looks like a RDS 001 MP with a blue/white paintjob instead of yellow/black.

She's not using her RacquetFuel Control 1.25mm in the mains any more??

Actually the racquet says RQS 11,(check out Hingis' fansite, and blow up the pictures from Berlin) the head looks more square, and overall frame size bigger (100)than the RDS 001(98), which I love by the way. Love to check this stick out. Kudos to Martina, nice to see her back and just continuing to move forward.

I can tell you the specs in some days. Only remember that's a 100 sq in. The funny thing Martina told us: She was in Tokyo and saw the racket. She liked the cosmetics and decided to use it now!!! (No joke, these were her words!!!)

It was a Yonex package, that's all I can say for sure.

11? Where does this come from? This image from today's Italian Open match clearly shows an RQ5 printed on her stick.

You got it!!! Hey guys, I strung her racket some days ago. So why do some of you trust more in pictures than in somebody who hold this stick in his hands?

Because some people are idiots more concerned with "conspiracy theories" than actual FACTS. Not to mention that they can't read a graphic on the side of a racquet

Thanks for the FACTual info jura!

seems it's not a paintjob of an nsrq7. the nsrq7's shockless/filter grommets are placed at 3,6,9 and 12 o'clock. this rqs11 has them only at the 3,6 and 9 positions. the base of the throat also looks different.

check that, it seems like the designation will be rqs001 not rqs11. see this pic:

It's not a pj of anything. Higher beam and more isometric head shape than the NS RQ's. From the cross section it reminds me a bit of the V-Con 17 100 but without the V-Con system.
And trust me: The name is RQS 11!!! I'm getting old but I'm still able to read ;-)

Looks like both 001 and 11!

Since there is a RDS 001, is it more likely to be RQS 001?

Hi people....its definately the RQS 11 as it is available to buy over here in the UK from next week.

Its also now on the Japanese Yonex website http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.yonex.co.jp/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dyonex%2Bjp%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3 Doff%26rls%3DGGLG,GGLG:2006-04,GGLG:en

Hope that helps anyone who wanted to know more.

I held Hingis's rackets in Warsaw during the J & S Cup; they were strung on-site and I asked the stringer to hold one, and Clijsters's racket as well. I expected they were some really strange paint-jobs or heavily customized frames and what I saw (at least I think so) were stock-form rackets... :) It was surprising to me how light those rackets were and that I could see absolutely no customization.
So I'm also beginning to think that this paint-job phenomenon is much less common among the pros than I expected.

girls and women play more stock cos they play lighter rackets, more like the ones on the market.

Finally!!! this has been hounding me since I saw she switched rackets.
I thought it might have been an RDS003 with a pj.

Does anybody know when this racket will be available in the US?

I'm hoping they'll bring the RQ7 Tour version to the U.S.

Here's a site that has the specs on the racquet. I'm assuming "average weight" is equivalent to "unstrung" weight.

Headsize: 100sq in.
Length: 27.5
Weight 280g
Balance: 330mm
String Pattern: 16 x 18
Beam Width: 19 - 25mm

But Clijsters is using the old version of the Pure Drive (as Moya does) without Woofer system. So it's a kind of paintjob, too.
Yes, the girls often play lighter and so more common rackets. But there are still a lot of paintjobs and heavy customizations: Mauresmo, Henin, Davenport, Schnyder, Myskina, Kuznetsva . . . - Sharapova is using an O3 White with 18 main strings, . . . And I checked Dulkos racket: 345 gramms unstrung! That's like a boys stick;-)

Sometimes, manufacturers reserve a few models to be sold exclusively at pro shops (no online stores). The RQS 11 might be one of those models so try this link:

Jura, can you tell us what kind of strings you used on Hingis racquet? Looks like a hybrid from the pics.

Also, did you guys notice the the RQS 33 on the Japanese site? I wouldn't play with it, but looks like a hammer!

Yes, Hingis used a hybrid. It was a poly main (in a Yonex bag) and gut cross. At the beginning of the week she tried different versions: one with VS 16, the other with a Yonex natural gut. After the second practice day she decided for the Babolat. (One string with the Yonex gut was cutted out of the racket without hiting only one ball.)

I thought her mother strung her racquets for her. Not true?
Funny thing: Her mother said "Some years ago I strung her rackets. And when she plays better I will do it again." Makes no sense to me but those were her words.
