Are there any ball machines around which shoot the ball at you with the same speed as pro players would?
All those machines out there are really expensive, but wouldn't you learn much more by getting real power shots shoot at you?
Or a ball machine which would serve a ball over 200km/h?
I don't think there's even one ball machine which is equivalent to a service.

First of all I dont think a machine exists that does that, second of all why would you want it? Unless you're a 5.5+ player, which I doubt you are, it'd be pointless to face those kind of shots.

Yes there is. Go to www.maximumsport.com
Then go products. Then go into SAM. Then choose 'robot'. Check it out. It is awesome.

Have you ever seen a SAM? I heard about it a few years ago and I believe that it sold in the five figures!

My camp has a SAM machine. I have seen it serve over 100 and played a few drills with it. I think when at its highest point it is over ten feet high.

don't you think 200 kph is a bit much to practice returning?!

WOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn't we all become great tennis players by using machines like this?
I'd love to try one out someday, but I don't think there's even 1 in Holland.

I have just purchased a SAM ball machine 4 weeks ago and my game and skill have improved so much. The SAM guy came out and demo it at my place and explained how to use it as well as how to get the most out of it. He also showed me how to set it up on court to fast track my training, and boy; does it work!
fantastic machine... the best i saw and built like a tank. 5 stars
check em' out www.maximumsport.com the best ball machines in the world.

u have seen it serve over 100mph? or over 100km/h?
100mph is still slow. much of the top players's 2nd serve is faster than that.
do u have any idea how much a SAM machine (robot - that is said to serve with over 110mph) costs?

How about this one: Boomer (www.tennisrobot.com).
Price around $15k, or rent for $600\month.

I haven't tried it tho. Apparently, this machine was also on tour. More info on the website on where to get\rent this machine. If anyone has experience with this machine, pls. post your experience(s). Thanks.

The highest the SAM Robot is capable is 150mp/h = 240km/h with the throwing wheels spinning at over 100,000 rpm. Anything faster than this (260km/h - 160mp/h plus) can rip the felt off the ball when doing kick serves. It's a great machine capable of beating the pants off any player... even the unstoppable Federer and Agassi playing doubles. ;)

That Sam machine looks like you could take it to war and own everything.

That thing is cool! Who needs tennis partners when you've got SAM? ;)

Prince has a professional machine that I have tried. It will hurl balls at about 90 or so. It has may adjustments and modes to simulate real play. I think it costs around 3 grand.

What is the name of the club that you play at? Not many have this machine.
