View Full Version : Gamma Shockbuster Melted?

Hi all. This sounds strange, but it seems that my Gamma Shockbuster II has melted. The racquet it was on had been kept in my study for the last several weeks. I went to remove it so that I could use it on my new racquet and one end of it was gooey.
Other than heat exposure, I can't think what would cause this to happen. Anyone have a similar experience?

Are you sure it wasn't gum or something?

they've been known to rip and have yucky gooey stuff come out but ive never heard of them melting.

Maybe there was a leak and the inner "fluids" came out? no?

The Zorbicon (the cushioning compound inside the shockbuster) can leak out when the Shockbuster gets old. it is time for you to get a new one, my friend.

Wow, I had that dampener for less than 3 weeks. Used less than 4 hours! At least I know what the gooey stuff is...

I used this many years ago. Once I was trying to attach it onto the strings, and just to see how tight it could go, I pulled too hard and had that pink stuff all over my white shirt ...

use a rubber band

Yup, that's what I'm using now. Rubber bands have just the right amount of dampening, takes away vibration but yet leaves just the right amount of feel.
