During the takeback, my rackethead doesn't point at the ground. I've seen some of your students use this. So what's the big deal?

During the takeback, my rackethead doesn't point at the ground. I've seen some of your students use this. So what's the big deal? For modern-type forehands (segmented FH), that racquet-head-pointing-down position (I would say that it actually points more behind the player) that you mentioned usually occurs during the forward swing transitional phase. With a loose laid-back wrist and a pulling action of the racquet towards the ball during a forward swing transition, the racquet head ends up being positioned that way (or in a similar position).

It's not something you DO just to have the head pointing that way, but rather it's the result of particular swing mechanics.

Seems like BeachTennis rented a new camera, and it's paid by week, and by time used, so he's taking full advantage of it :D

As a 3.0 player you played with racquets for advanced players? What an $#$%#! LOL

My question is what makes you think you are good enough for quality racquets like that? lol

^^^ Wow!!!! Okay people, lets dissect the humor, taking our time to explain it in great detail, so that he could then understand it. That right there would be freaking hilarious (not really).

(The loner kid in class, 2 hours after a joke): "Oh, now I get it. Uh huh huh huh (snort snort)."

What is all the hype about what racket is in the kids hand.

This is the stuff that one must be willing to do to be a educated tennis player!

Practice with purpose !!

Do it well without a ball and you will do it well with the ball!

Would you bicker when you hear racing car fanatics rave about something like: "Woah, that thing has a twin turbo, with a fully re-polished blocked" etc.??????

Relax, we're all crazy in our own ways man!!!!!! Haha

SEATTLE -- Hideki Matsui moved one step closer to a potential return to the Yankees, as he was cleared to hit off a tee with both hands.
Matsui was examined Tuesday in New York by team physician Stuart Hershon and hand specialist Melvin Rosenwasser, and after having a CT scan taken of his surgically repaired left wrist, the outfielder was cleared to begin his tee work.

CHICAGO -- It's been a frustrating season for Lee, unable to defend his first National League batting title after colliding with Rafael Furcal on April 19 and injuring his wrist. He was hitting off a batting tee for three days in Houston, and has been doing soft-toss drills in the cage for two days at Wrigley Field.

LANCASTER --Although Hake is excited about the upcoming hunting season, he hopes to still contribute to the Barnstormers' playoff run. He has already resumed throwing and took batting practice off a tee recently.

Tony Gwynn: Tee for One
For me the most effective way to practice hitting is to use a batting tee and a bag of wiffle balls. Tee it up and start hacking. The sooner you can hit a wiffle ball cleanly off a tee, the sooner you will become a better hitter. When you hit a wiffle ball off a tee correctly, it acts like a knuckleball. You can hear the air going through the ball. When you don't hit it correctly, you create spin on the ball and it goes all over the place. When the ball spins alot, I make adjustments to correct my swing. Even after 18 years in the big leagues, every winter I go home and break out the tee and wiffle balls. It's not the most exciting thing, so you have to be creative. I put my headphones on and listen to my favorite music while I concentrate on my hitting technique.

Do you do a lot of cone-drilling where you take away the element of perception of the incoming ball? I don`t do it a lot because I notice that their perfect cone-learned technique falls apart when the ball is actually hit at them.

The dark skinned instructor with his back turned to the camera who looks totally off balanced falling over also has what appears to be an illegal dampner on his racquet.

4. The Racquet, Case: 3

In picture 1, the red dot is someone's shorts. Look just to the left of that red dot between the black and gold racquet. Look between cross strings 1 and 2.

In picture 2, its more clear. It looks like a dampner/rubber band placed between cross strings 1 and 2.
