I was at the local store trying to get some Dayquil. It's no longer on the shelves, you need to get it from the register. You need to show your DL and sign a declaration stating that you realise what you are purchasing. The whole reason behind all this is to supposedly limit how much dayquil one can buy because the criminally oriented use it to make 'meth'.,
It's absolutely ridiculous. They are trying to limit how much dayquil I buy?? What about someone walking into a cigarette store and buying an entire pack of 20 packs? what about people who buy a 36 pack of coors light? The govt. is not worried about excessive consumption of those? Or is there some other reason here that I am missing or was not informed about? Don't tell me they can make explosive material from dayquil!!
Not to mention waiting in long lines just to get some sore throat relief!!

I agree with you. My mother is a pharmacist and she complains about this because it's an extra hastle on her to sell something stupid like that and go through paper work. You won't have a problem with how much you buy though because they do not shut u off unless u buy like 5 bottles a week.

I remember being talked to in school about this. The speaker said drug makers took turns going into stores and buying packs of this stuff.

After living in several countries with high rates of alcohol consumption (Russia, Finland, Uk), I wonder why governments take the time to outlaw other drugs. If you will let someone mess himself up with drugs like alcohol and tobacco, then why would you worry about someone who wants to use other drugs. They will let someone drink himself to death (either in a one-night binge or slowly over time), but if he tries to use heroin, meth, etc., they act concerned. I find it hypocritical.
I think you should either outlaw all drugs that can be abused (effectively outlawing almost everything, including medicine) or let people mess themselves up as much as they want. It will thin out the herd. It's not like our planet is suffering from a shortage of people anyway.

The day is not too far away when every single individual will have to show a DL to buy a condom. Only 3 will be dispensed per household per week to limit the influence se*ual acitivities have on our brains....

Yes, I saw a special on this and why it was (at the time) going to be put behind the pharmacy counter. It now is.

Yet they teach gay fairy tale in schools, not that there's anything wrong with that.

sadly for dayquil, they dont have congress people lobbying to keep them on the shelves, unlike tobacco and liquor monopolies.
secondly, the government doesnt make money off dayquil or maybe they make far less compared to money gained from tobacco and liquor monopolies.
thirdly, crystal meth doesnt get lobbied for much, but i think you already knew that much...
this all comes down to money---the root of all evil.
