My opponent is a lefty who hits loopy topspin shots, (big backswing) and we play on clay. I have played him once before and i lost 6-3, 6-2. During that match i felt that i needed to jump in order to find the ball which was really annoying. I lost mainly because i made too many unforced-forced errors. What strategy should i employ against him? I am a power baseliner, two handed backhand and i have a relatively big but inconsistent serve. Also my net game is mediocre. Thanks!

I would figure out ways to not give him time to set up for the big loopy swing of his. I would try to get him off the court with sharply angled serves and groundies and force him to hit a good shot on the run. Also, I would also start mixing up early in the match, so he doesn't get too comfortable getting into the groove of hitting topspin groundies. Vary your shots and don't let him dictate with loopy shots until you either miss a shot or hit a short one.
