I'd have to go with Nalbandian if they do meet. Gasquet has been playing pretty medicore so far this year while Nalbandian has a clay title under his belt and is playing alright

A clay title, plus a MS SF, where he lost to Federer in a 3rd set TB by two points ;)

Tough draw for Nalby but I am sure he will make it.
Gasquet is just not playing well enough in these days.

It was in a 3 setter.

What the heck is wrong with Gasquet? The way he has been playing lately, I don't think he will win his first match to even get to Nalbandian. It doesn't even matter who he is playing.

Well, it's not just that tournament. It's all year. His singles record is something like 5-11 or 6-11. And now the elbow too...

I would love to see Gasquet take him, but with the elbow problems and from what I've noticed, he is having a bit of a problem controlling his anger on court it's gonna be tough. But I still back him, regardless of being in a slump.

Unfortunately, Richard reaching second round is far from a done deal. I know that it may sound stupid, but I truly believe that Head Instinct he is playing with is killing his arm. He needs to switch to something more arm-friendly, like Prestige. Guga did exceptionally well with prestige, they both have exquisite 1hbh.

Geez, this guy isn't gonna have much of a career if he can't stay injury free a bit more. People talk about Nadal being injury prone, but it seems like Gasquet is much worse with injuries. I hope his best tennis is not past him...

Even if he played Roddick, lol? ;)

Roddick would take him down, even with a bum foot and shoddy shoulder.

I agree. Or he could switch to the flexpoint version of the Instinct ;)

It looks like his elbow problems have really brought his game back to earth. I remember himn taking out Federer in the Monte Carlo semis last year. Having experienced tennis elbow, it is most difficult to play with the pain.
