how come they don't show his first-round match? I know he has no chance of winning, but c'mon, it's andre! he's a former champ!

Andre is not playing at Roland Garros this year, he's withdrawn.

Yeah, what Max said. Andre is skiping the entire clay court season and is going to back in Stella Artois touramenet.

His matches are probably broadcast more than any other player's, so he's doing just fine in that department.

They could show a rerun of his title match from 1999. No excuses.

I always read on here how the Americans always get more air time on ESPN, well for once I don't think there would be any complaints if they reran the 1999 final. There was a hell of a lot of heart from Andre out there on the red clay, probably his most treasured slam win.

Frankly, I would rather see some old French Open matches over some of the first rounders they show. Who wants to see Gaudio? When they show Safin/Gonzalez, I'll watch.

Once awhile we need this kind of post. And, he's still a champ at his age.
Well done.

Apparently, he's playing baseball left-handed. I guess they could only find a left-handed double for him.

Nope - that's really him. It was a Nike commercial.

I think it's just a case of the photo being reversed.

Wow, I know Nike thinks of everything....but an inverted B on the helmet?
Nah.
He must be hitting lefty. Two handed backhand with the right hand on the bottom. Familiar. Plus, it has long been rumored he was a switch hitter back in the early nineties.
I saw the commercial, but why is he playing left-handed?
He is BATTING left handed, as do a good many right handers (myself included). Get a clue, my man...

They only had a left-handed bat available for him.
