I have always used a 5/8 grip but I hear that a smaller grip makes releasing the wrist to hit more topspin easier.

Any advise???

Thanks

Most peeps go one size smaller to compensate for adding overgrips.

Your decision will be influenced by points like:

1) Does a 'smaller ' grip give you tennis elbow or any other arm problems? Some people can use 'smaller' grips with no health problems and it's independent of ability and physique imo.

2) Some people find the racquet becomes more prone to twisting on off-center hits when using a 'smaller' grip. However the amount of twisting is due in part to the racquet you use. I have 98" and 95" head size racquets both with the same size smaller grip but the 95" is a heavier, more solid racquet and it does not twist on off-center hits while the 98" does.
