They are not going to show live semis on Friday or am I misreading the schedule?

He meant the semi, not the finals. ESPN is showing soccer tomorrow.

The semi is also on NBC but is taped.

For tape delayed, ESPN is showing one tomorrow evening but there is probably not enough time for the whole match.

It is just two hours for both Fed-Nalby and Ljubo-Nadal.

funny how they drowned us with live tennis all of last week . . . and now we get to cruch time and the semis . . . and neither network is going to show us a live match.

They've never shown the mens semi's live as far back as I can remember, so no surprise there. At least they finally show the final live no. I don't think they even did that until 2 years ago.

You guys better prepare now for being disappointed at Wimbledon.
ESPN is covering both Wimbledon & the World Cup at the same time for the first time in their networks history(during last World Cup, TNT had Wimbledon)
So live tennis coverage will be limited this year(compared to last year)

I liked it when the USA Channel did Wimbledon. Now they do the U.S Open.

Mediazone said something about covering Wimby's every match online for a fee. Would be terrific.

USA network has always done the US Open for quite some time now.

USA never did Wimbledon(they used to do the French though)
HBO covered Wimbledon for a very long time, from 80s until 1999. TNT had it from '00-'02. ESPN started in '03.

Hmmm....interesting because they said they would be broadcasting 50 hours more of Wimby then RG. Maybe they'll have most of WC on ESPN and Classic during the times for Wimby.

The whole total hours thing is misleading. They count the evening highlight shows as part of the hours. First week of W should be fine, plenty of live coverage. 2nd week more conflicts with World Cup (& NBC has coverage as well during 2nd week)
I have a feeling there will be a lot of tape delayed tennis on espn during 2nd week.
