Road Bike Cork foam bar wrap as grip??

Hey all im looking for a grip with comformity, and i was looking as the barwrap on my road bike and thinking how comprable it was to tennis grips, so i was wondering what anyones thoughts on it was?
Id ofcourse put a over grip on it, so all i really care about is the feel of it. and ive yet to find any tennis grip that is actually soft. they all feel pretty hard in comparison.

A problem may arise from the build up of the handle. Also your tennis grip has to resist more torques thaan it would on your bike. I used this method for a player who wanted a 5'" grip on a 1/4" frame. I never tried this for a more normal player.

well the ones im looking at come in a comprable thicknes, of 2-2.4 mm
