Yea, though the first set giveth us false hope for glory immortal, victory was thus denied. In thy heart of hearts, thou knowest the battle was to be joined against long odds. A learned man of science, endeavoring to create the perfect beast to play on a court of clay, could scarcely devise a more worthy opponent than the young man from Spain. Thus, with little help from the rest of the draw, Roger was sent to slay the beast of clay. Alas, victory was not ours this day.
Fear not! A new day will dawn! Now that the tennis do moveth to grass, remember! Though our spirits be not lower, Roger is the lawn mower!
