A lady I know has problems with her feet overheating in the K-Swiss Ultrascendors. After one hour of play, she needs to change socks (Thorlos).

Do you know any well-breathing women's shoes?

The women's Adidas Feathers is, probably, one of the most ventilated she'll find, but, if she's using them for hardcourts, she may want to read what other's have posted here, regarding the subject.

Aren't Thorlos really thick? So that could be adding to the overheating. But to answer your question, the Nike Breath Free II are pretty breathable, just as the name implies.

Exactly. I don't get why people will buy half a size larger shoes just to be able to use thicker socks (or 2 pairs of them). I know it's because of the extra cushioning, but why not get a nicely cushioned shoe of the right size and use them with normal socks? Gives a much better feeling. And as brownbearfalling pointed out, less heat on the feet :)

The Nike Breathe Free is pretty well-ventilated and I have no problem with my Asics in terms of ventilation. But, as another poster mentioned, I find Thorlos VERY hot on my feet (for both tennis and hiking) and they just don't breathe that well. Can she try other socks? I use the Euro socks. Not the absolute coolest (in terms of ventilation) socks but a good compromise, I find, between cool feet and cushioning.

first to answer the question on the topic, the breathe free 2s are really nice, especially from knowing girls who like them.

about the 2 pairs of socks, i can find shos that fit me correctly, but whne i play my feet slip no matter what sock i use and how tight i tie the laces. Two socks pretty much gets rid of all sliding, and allows for more cushioning and helps alot with blisters. I haven't gotten blisters as frequently as I used to when using one pair of socks. My feet also don't get that hot, i am guessing it is the shoes, because i used to feel that my feet were always really hot, but know i rarely get that problem. I wear BIVs, Vapor Speeds and AMBFIIs. All of them are breathe very well with thorlos, so these are some other possible choices.

Reebok Upset DMX. I wear the mens and they have great ventilation provided by screeing in the upper, below the insole (though I dont know if this does anything) and mesh over the toe. Better hurry though, at least the mens sizes are about gone at TW.

How about the Prince T9 Roadster? I just picked these up and really like them. They have mesh in place of leather in several places. I'm not up on the tennis shoe technical vocabulary, so I can't be much more specific than that. They're quite comfortable and seem to need no break-in.

I have relatively wide foot and tend to supinate, and the Prince shoes have worked well for me in that respect. I have tried a couple of New Balance pairs recently that have been dismal for me in terms of both stability and comfort.

My wife just got a pair of Babolat Pure's (Lady). Ventilated, mesh tongue, light, cool. And she wears Thorlo level 3's (the traditional, thick Thorlo).

Has she tried the K-Swiss Glaciator? I believe the fit and feel is similar to the Ultrascendors.
