It seems everyone has counted Roddick out of everything including Wimbledon. I know he has not done well in about a year now, but Wimbledon is his best chance to get back into the swing of things and make a run at the US open. Don't count Roddick out.

Well, he got to the semis, lost to Blake, he is around. Does he strike fear in the hearts of other players? Nah. He is what they call a dangerous floater nowadays.

Roddick will probably make the QF without much problem - after all it is grass and his serve still has some sting to it, provided he can get the first one in on a regular basis. Whether he progresses any further depends on the draw. His only chance at making another final, which I put somewhere between dim and dimmer, is if he's seeded second. But that's not likely to happen. I think Nadal has earned the right to be seeded second given his good result at Queens before his injury.

I think the officials at Wimby will put Roddick and Federer on opposite sides of the draw, though, just to ensure a possible interesting final. To some, not to me or most other tennis fans anymore.

Would like to see the draw committee take mercy on Agassi and Henman and put them away from Federer as well. An Agassi-Henman semifinal would be sweet. An Agassi/Federer final or Federer/Henman final, which I put in the same vicinity as a Federer/Roddick final unfortunately, would be even sweeter.

I didn't know that 5 and 6 seeds are considered "dangerous floaters" now...

Its put up or shut up time for Roddick now. He has gotta perform at Wimbledon to have any chance of salvaging this season. Anything short of losing to Roger will be unacceptable to him and thats going to be a tall order considering there are so many players that actually ARE floating around that can take down Roddick.

Either way, I'm rooting for the guy. I wanna see him back and having some fun.

He's probably the second favorite. Far from just a floater. It's best of 5 and it's Wimbledon so you can figure he's going to put his heart into going as far as possible until he meets Federer. But if he meets someone like Agassi or Safin, it could be an early farewell.

He's probably the second favorite.

He is the 2nd favorite with oddsmakers at 12-1. Fed is 1-2.

Safin? he hates grass and is pretty bad on it too... Roddick shouldve been 2 seed but that formula they use is messed up, it doesnt make any sense to me how nadal was 2...

Roddick will only win if he doesn't have to play Hewitt or Federer or Nalbandian and has luck on his side.

I seriously hope we don't get another Federer v Roddick final. 3 years in a row doesn't appeal to me at all.

I feel it's someone elses turn to have a crack at Federer in the final such as Nalbandian, Henman, Agassi, Ancic etc..

Where's the swagger Andy used to have? I guess it's hard to be intimidating when you're outfitted in LeCoste. He looks more like a country club pro...and it seems he's been playing like one as well. I'm not saying that Reebock and the trucker hats were that great, but at least he looked his age. Heck, maybe he should break out the old visors.

Simple solution...bring back Gilbert!

Dangerous floater? Seriously? Look the only guy(besides Blake now) that Roddick has lost to on grass in the past couple of years is none other than the man himself, Federer. So there is no way he is a floater at Wimbledon. I can see where you might say that some players arent afraid of him as much maybe as they once were, but they still better show him respect or he'll eat them alive. So Im gonna make a bold prediction. One that youll be eating your words the second half of this season. And also that Roddick will get to the final again at Wimbledon(and may even mess around and win it) he'll win RCA again and a few other tournaments. And he will win the US Open. I know that may be going out on a limb to some of you, but so what. Im not a fair weathered fan. Roddick is and forever will be my boy because from watching him is the reason I started playing this game. So with that being said, the show begins monday so everybody sit back and enjoy.

The only thing you need to respect on roddick is his first serve. Everything else you can disrespect to your heart's content

Be sure Roddick will not win Wimbledon or even be the last US player in the gentleman's singles draw. Agassi and Blake will last longer than Roccick.

You know, I like the way you stick with your guy through thick and thin, true fans are true this way, but Roddick winning US Open this year? It's like saying Ferrero wins the French. Used to be a threat for the cup, now just a used-tobe.

Anything is possible if the draw folds the right way. Federer is almost a lock to win the rest of this year's Slams, but maybe Nalbandian or Safin will take him out at the Open, or maybe he'll sprain his ankle. Roddick has a shot at the next 2 Slams if he gets ridiculously lucky in the draw.

Agassi? come on now ppl,i seriously doubt he has enough in the tank for another slam final... at the end of this year he should retire...

Which bit? About not facing Nalbandian, Federer or Hewitt?

Ideally he would face Hewitt in the quarters but I think we can rule that one out. Somehow he always seems to avoid people who he struggles against until as late as possible

A-Rod will make it to the semis at Wimby this year, from there it depends if Fed is put in his half of the draw. If not then A-Rod will make the final and the odds are against him to win, but I wouldn't count him out for an upset. During the hardcourt season he might play well, but I dont see him winning at Flushing Meadow this year.

Why does everyone assume it's a foregone conclusion that Roddick would lose to Hewitt if they played at Wimbly? Roddick beat him the only time they've played on grass, so I that match would be about 50/50 this year (if it happens).

Hewitt, as good as he is on grass, often seems like he could lose in a number of rounds if a few key points happened to go against him. Dude's not invincible.

I really don't think Roddick can beat Federer unless Fed has a really off day. But otherwise, I think he's still capable (maybe even likely) to beat everyone else on grass.

Roddick need to uppers is game. Whats the story on him getting is brother as a coach. If you look back he's been going down since parting with Brad Gilbert.

I say..get Brad Gilbert again....

Andy is young--has a lot of potencial but he needs to better is game. If he cant...he has to better is strategy to make the most out of the game he has.

He needs a more dependable backhand and a net game. He has the forehand...he has the serve. You really have to go in after that monster serve..and you need the have a net game.

His forehand is big...but i think he's rolling it a lot. Look at the forehand of safin...is it comparable? Or even Safin's serve..less power perhaps that roddick but better placement..

More than his backhand, I think he really needs to learn to volley. His vollies have to be the worst I've seen on the pro tour. Worse than a lot of clay specialists. :(

Perfectly said. He is a dangerous floater.

If he has a good serving day, then he can beat anyone on a fast surface. However, I don't think he will ever again reached the rankings he reached before.
