I always thougth that the draw for slams is 128. However, I am watching ESPN all day and they are saying that because of the rain, all 64 men are playing today. So is it 64 and not 128? Whats the story?

It is 128 players in each draw (women and men). You may have heard all 64 MATCHES are being played.

And all 64 matches will not be played today, that was wishful thinking.
Roddick, Bagdhatis, Grosjean, Hewitt, Gaudio, Ljubicic still aren't on court.
Top half has to play again tomorrow.

At least I hope that some sense gets into them and they start earlier tommorow. Not again at noon.

Wimbledon is very stubborn, they only recently changed Center Court start time to 1:00, it used to be 2:00. I don't think they've ever started before noon on other courts(even in years with a ton or rain & matches to make up)

And still no roof. After 100+ years of rain affecting play.
And they took a long time to get rid of white balls as well.
And still no play on Middle Sunday(unless they are way behind schedule)

I guess all this stuff is part of its charm, for some.

Yes,but I think that in 2009 they will put a roof.;)

So..could it be a sign that Wimby is modernizing?!?
