I just got my ncode 90 and was trying some new strings on it. I put a cross of alu rough(53 tension) and vs gut (55 tension). But now that I look back on it it was a stupid descicion because I usually play with reaction at 58. I have not had much time to hit with it but I think that the tension might be too low. Is there anything I can do except cut it out (that would waste a fourty five dollar string job)?

you can play with it until it breaks :D

on a more serious note, try putting some string savers, they should tighten it slightly...but besides that, there's nothing much you can do

You can add 15g of lead under the bumper like Nadal does. That will slow down your swing enough that you'll want the tension 5 lbs lower than normal, and your ball on the forehand will be much heavier like Nadal's. But be careful when you serve that you don't hurt yourself.

That's about an appropriate tension drop for the string type, i guess... I think you should hit with it first before asking this question ;)

Well I got about an hour and a half in with it and I was really sailing some balls longer than usual though it felt like I had to put in a lot less effort to hit hard.

Yes but I cannot keep the ball in the court as well as Fed with my lower tension.

Well its your chance to learn to!

3mths ago i use 59lbs, now dropped to 54 and play best with that havent tried lowetr yet but want to low tension rules! Will have to try in the 40s for the timo 1.10 i have.

Bigbanger will play best low anyhow id never put it above 56 and play with the racket it would be a danger to the arm!

Yeah today I got out and hit some more and got more familiar with the frame and the tension. Seems like I have to focus on extending to keep the ball in the court, but the results seem promising. It seems easier to generate pace on the ball compared to my ncode 95 18x20.

Give it some time. I see too many players change their set_up and then feel that their is a problem, whenthey haven't hit with the current stringing long enough. The use of gut can really show you a difference, even with a still string like BB.
