so i strung pro hurricane on my crosses with xcel premium as a main, and i can see why federer loves poly's on his crosses, it has a real solid feeling, and the soft mains soften up the stringbed a little, and theres alot more feel, probably because the poly dosent absorb much, as compared to a multi or nat gut when its a cross.

yea i once decided to string my n61 with the exact same tension and strings as federer and i must say it felt really sexy

Did you use the string savers and power pads also?

ooff, full day of hitting, and my arm now has some sharp pain to hit, its already on ice, and im never using this string combo again.

it could be tension(65 mains/63 crosses) but i dont want to end up with tennis elbow.

damn if federer can do this, hes a beast.

i know its not his tension, but i think how fed strings so low is how he could do it possibly.

i am not quite sure about this, so i will ask....

i know federer uses wilson natural gut 16s and luxilon big banger alu 16s, but which does he use for the mains, and which for the crosses?

and at what tension for each?

thanks

I believe it is gut in the mains and poly in the crosses. And is supposedly strung very low... like low-fifties, or perhaps high-forties.

thanks jaykay,

is it the crosses which gives control and the mains which gives more power?

Did you consider the reason you are huts is that the string tension was way way too tight?

And Roger does not do you stringing tension, so I am confused by your statements?

yeah probably, but i cant play with low tensions on my pure drive, i cut the string out and putting on a full bed of tnt fatcore at 63 today :)

I have my ncode 90 strung with vs gut and alu rough in the low fifties except that the mains and crosses are switched from Roger's. Perhaps I will experiment with his set up once my current one breaks. Do you guys think that there will be a big difference?

hey looseswing, how does your racquet play right now...that your mains and crosses are switched from federer's setup?

i've never tried to string my racquet with a hybrid, but to those who have done so with the nSix-One Tour 90, how do you do it? where are the tie-offs at?

thanks so much
