I have been doing my homework lately and watching a lot of pro games on tapes. I don't watch the ball but I watch the racquets and the players. After watching Henman VS Coria in the French Open Semi, I have noticed that on volleys Henman's racquet kind of stopped and dropped after the impact instead of the proper followthrough. Is that the right way to volley or just my illusion?
forget about the follow thru.... when 3.0-4.0 level people ask me about volley, I tell them to start with the most basic motion - the block back, which means no back swing, no follow through, but just put the racket in the incoming ball's path.
With a solid foundation, and enough practice, proper forms on more complex volleys will come naturally. e.g. fh and bh high put away, deep volleys on low balls, angle drop volley etc.

Followthrough? On a volley? You're kidding, right?
