hey guys i was just searching through the japanese website of prince tennis and i saw different versions of the O3 white sold in japan. first of all there is the original prince O3 white midplus that is sold in usa.
here are the specs for that:

headsize: 100
weight:295g unstrung
length: 27 inches
dimensions: 22.0-25.0-23.0 mm
power level: 900
string pattern: 16 x 19

here is the link for the original O3 White
http://www.daiwaseiko.co.jp/tennis/products/rackets/o3/index05.html

then there is an another version called the O3 XF White and it has the same cosmetic as the one sold in usa a.k.a the racquet mentioned above but different specs:

headsize: 100
weight: 300g unstrung
length: 27.25 inches
dimensions: 22.0-25.0-23.0 mm
power level: 875
string pattern: 18 x 19

here is the link for the second version: O3 XF White
http://www.daiwaseiko.co.jp/tennis/products/rackets/o3/io3xfw.html

okay so there might be two, but here ya go..one more version called the O3 XF White Lite, and this version has exactly the same cosmetics as the O3 White sharapova is using on tour right now with her signature printed on the side of the racquet..here are the specs for that:

headsize: 100
weight: 270g unstrung
length: 27 inches
dimensions: 22.0-25.0-23.0 mm
power level: 850
string pattern: 16 x 19

here is the link for the third version: O3 XF White Lite
http://www.daiwaseiko.co.jp/tennis/products/rackets/o3/io3xfwl.html

so im just wondering, why does japan have all these different versions of O3 White and why do they always have signature racquets that are painted to look like the ones the pros are using. another example is how wilson in japan are releasing a different version of the n-six one tour 90 but with different specs with federer's signature on the side.

i would really love to get a batch of those signature sharapova O3 whites just for collection. although im a guy haha but still it'd be cool to trick people telling them that i got these from sharapova herself cuz i knew her :P XD
dunno, japan always produces the good stuff maybe i should live there one day...so anybody else on this?

yea, the the 3rd version of the O3 White (O3 White XF Lite) has the pink highlights of the o-ports at the 12 and 6 o'clock position just like maria's racquet. it also has the signature on the side of the racquet. Y DO THE JAPANESE HAVE ALL THE GOOD STUFF???! lol

Marketing. The Japanese market will PAyfor items that sometimes bomb over her. The red Yamaha YFG30 was the same frame as the black, in the US it didn't sell[ nearly as well as the black frame.

I guess the economics drive the product offerings. I.e. Japanese pay around US$250-$305 for a racquet, and courts are about 40-100 bucks an hour. If the Americans are willing to pay that, I am sure Prince will come calling.

....no, i dunt think they do pay that much for a racquet. i've been to japan and converted the currencies and the prices are about the same. dunno about court prices though, cuz i've never played in japan before.
wish they really sold the japanese racquets over here in the US.

They do.

http://www.eddy.co.jp/shop/cwilson/w_racket1.htm

6.1 US Spec is 28,560yen which is 249.095 ...

http://www.eddy.co.jp/shop/cprince/p_racet1.htm

Basically if you are looking for a racquet that is used by someone famous, i.e. Agassi, Fed, Sharapova .. .the price is about US$250.

http://www.windsorracket.co.jp/event/2006_07_prince/2006_07_prince.html

But if you are talking about the ones that is not used by any pro (or not a "popular" pro) the price is about 25,000 yen which is about 218US.

However ,the older models price drops way lower than anything. I have seen Head i.intelligence prestige going for 18,000yen. I would say Japan is a place to shop for older models .. the prices are very reasonable.

Even this online shop is selling for the same price.
http://tennis365.net/asp/ItemFile/10006184.html?p=racket

note the RRP of the racquet. 40,230 yen is like 350US !

lol ok so i guess it is more expensive to buy new racquets in japan. i have two us versions of the prince turbo shark mp, and i wanna get that japanese version shark (looks like a paintjob of a TT hornet on the japan site)

gd!

I would like to purchase one O3 White MP XF and shorten it to 27 inches which works best for me.
Any idea how to shorten the grip on O3 racquets coz its a kind of different built grip. Thanks!
