I use eastern FH grip even since I play the game...
About a couple months ago, I was thinking about changing to SW, so somehow, subconsiously, I shifted toward SW, hitting ok with it but loss accuracy (expected for a new grip). After I play with this in-between grip for a while, I don't like it, it is really weak on low ball (compare to eastern) and it is not as easy to flat out the ball (compare to eastern), and I was expecting better high ball handling but it is only marginal better than my eastern (I hit high ball flat pretty well with eastern). The reason I wanted to change was playing against the modern highball, but I am not satisfy with the result of the in-between grip.
Now comes the good part. So I decided to go back to eastern. However, with the new knowledge of hitting "closer to SW", I learned how to hit the ball even more in front with the eastern grip and the most important improvement is the handling of highball. Now I know how to hit "consistently" topspin on highball, I can smack the heck out of it with topspin and it will go in, and I don't think I mentioned I am using a 60lbs tension tiRad OS. It is an unreal realization that now I can hit at close to my limit on every highball and they all when in. The funky part is, those topspin shots I hit, they don't drive down, the path is sort of going up slightly and dip at the end of the path, pretty cool.
