Took a short video of a few serves. (2nd one was a slice
serve) Basically, I put the camera all the way at the back
fence behind me.

Nice. I'm not a big fan of having your feet together. Try separating them for balance.

Pretty good, very fast :-0. Supersmash his feet are separated, just vertically, not like he's serving with shoes glued together..

Nice serve but you seem to bend your knees for no reason at all, you're bending them but you're not exploding or jumping very much at all towards the ball. And as for Supersmash's comment, take the stance that you feel most comfortable with.

Your stance seems fine. Roddick uses the close feet stance. Like others have said, its what you feel comfortable with. You have pretty decent racquet speed, and I can see the bounce is not too bad.

Mr. Federer did catch an important point which I will elaborate on: The use of your knee bend to jump into the ball. To utilize the knee bend try getting into your normal position then jumping into the court without tossing the ball or having the racquet in your hands. After a few times, take the racquet in your hand , toss into the court about 6-7 inches and a bit higher and jump to the ball using the same jumping motion. Ideally you will want to land on your left foot when you jump into the court.

Yeah, I could launch from my legs a bit more. I was mostly
focusing on tweaking a few minor things with my
motion, but I think I think could explode more from my
legs. I think the first two serves were in and the 3rd was
probably about a foot out.

it's probably hard to tell, but my feet actually start off about
a foot and a half apart and then I slide my right foot up.
Just sort of what feels natural for me.

Here is the thing, a good part of your serve looks good, but you are not getting much out of it, why?

#1 you look like you are chasing your toss by moving racket and body, but even worse you do not want to be walking around while you are serving.

#2 the toss is not high enough, you are wanting a lot of power and a big set up, but you can't do with with out a big toss

#3 you are trying to bend the knees and toss at the same time, don't do this, toss standing straight up with weight on back foot lean on front foot with are pointing up and bowing back, the bend will happen by itself.

Note:anyone purposly bending the knees are wasting time and energy, that is not how you do it, the bend will naturally happen as you bow and coil the shoulders back, you end up leaning back which forces the knees to bend.

As a result of tossing and crouching and purposly bending the knees you loose all power, for how much effort you are putting into your serve and large movements your serve should make a loud cracking booming sound

After you fix toss height, consitancy, position you want to work on keeping the knees almost striaght and woking on your rack drop, learning to relax and drop the are right.

Always always slowly warm up to your serve, don't go trying a full motion no matter if you are a 5.0 ect, you want to get your toss warmed up and your racket drop, body position. As you warm up and find the full consistancy you open up more and more.

My serves make a big crack boom noise unless I am chasing my toss, toss is not high enough, or if I am really tired.

I can not serve two days in a row when serving full out.

The serves were long, but it's a common thing to practice with long serves to clear the net. The Bryans do it all the time as a warmup exercise for serves.

More shoulder rotation, it'll stop the occasional awkward snap of your elbow upward at pronation. This snap can also cause some serious damage over time (lots of popping sounds from elbow, and some nasty pain).

Well I hope my advice helps, so thank you.

The problem is that people don't understand that the knee bend is to push you forward not up ward.

Many times people try to bend and toss at the same time, that is not going to happen sorry

Kneed bend is overated and not needed, your knees will start to bend naturally anyways

lol I've seen so many players *including my friends* have a similiar form like that, I like watching people who have that form, but I like my version better lol

I like your motion, but I thought you are supposed to push up into the ball instead of pushing forward.

you only push up to get topspin if you are doing a topspin serve. pushing up helps achieve better topspin

Complete your toss first before you start anything, you'll find that your serve will be alot more consistent.
