What is the purpose of stringing with different strings and at different tension? Is it only for those who break strings regularly? How does it help one hit better?
r u meaning that
why do ppl hybrid say... alu and gut and say alu at 53 and gut at 52?
or something else?
Generally, to combine the better aspects of the two typs of strings used.
String breakers tyically break mains first, so using poly for the mains can add durability, but a full poly job can be rough on the arms and lack feel, so a softer string is used in the crosses to help in those areas. Polys are very stiff, so they are typically strung at a lower tension than the softer string in the hybrid.
Another reason to hybrid is price. A full gut job is expensive, so using a cheaper synthetic for the crosses can cut the price nearly in half.
Furthermore, because we can.
