I am 3.5 player in my 50's and mainly play doubles. Want more control(who doesn't). I never have trouble getting clean hits on the ball. Will going to a Midplus or even Mid racquet help control placement somewhat better? Yes, do not have physical power once had but am hitting with Volkl Classic V1 OS and sometimes with a Prince ThunderCloud OS and neither racquet causes any arm/shoulder problems. These hit well for me but lack placement. I use to hit with a Wilson HH 5.2. Mid that gave me great control but killed my elbow thus had to give it up. Now you know what type of racquets I have hit with do you have any suggestions on control racquets for me? Open to anything except saying to me to give up the game!!!!!! Thanks

While I can't suggest any specific rackets, I suggest a mp racket, probably 95 or 98 head. I think going from OS to mid would just be too big of a jump at one time. Depending on which mp racket you choose, you should notice a good amount of added control. Aside from being a hugely smaller head size from OS to mid, mids are also significantly heavier than OS frames, and even if you are capable of handling it, it is again a large jump to try to make. The Dunlop M-Fil 300 may be worth a consideration.

well, id say pro staff, but if you think it might be to heavy my biggest suggestion from personal experience would be the babolat aero drive,
creates alot of spin on its own, and good control, its got 100 sq in head, and if u go any lower, it may help control a bit, but this racket will give you some additional help if you are lacking in your swing a bit.
just a tip good luck

More than size, I'd look at shape. See where you're hitting the ball mostly. Sometimes a lot of people are hitting low so they need a racquet to compensate for that.
For me, I think you'd do well with a POG OS. The thing with this racquet is you don't need to swing hard. You can have a medium pace stroke and have excellent control and enough power. It's pretty heavy too and made of 100% graphite; it's friendly for the arm.
Excellent for volleying if you ever do plan on volleying.

Liquidmetal instincts are cheap and decent. I'm using a shark mp right now and think its good, not too demanding and big of a change from os racquet. The 100sq. inch makes it more forgiving than 95 or 98 sq. inch racquets. Offers more control than os, but still same power. I suggest also taking a look at prince o3 hybrid racquets, yonex rds003, wilson npro open, babolat pure storm team mp, wilson nblade/nps95.
