I thought this would be an interesting topic to start, i'm not sure if something like this has been posted before or not, but i'll give it a try anyway.

Point of it is to see other peoples tennis profiles --
Including stuff like Age Height, weight, what racquet(s) you use, what your playstyle is (serve and volley, baseline bashing, couterpunching, pushing, strong serve/groundstrokes, spin artist etc. etc.) strings you use, professional players you admire and like to watch play, what courts you like playing on the most/ are best on, your NTRP rating, your strokes (Forehand and backhand grips) and anything else you can think of adding.

I'll start off with some info on my tennis.

I am 17, with a height of 6'2 and weighing 135.
I use a Prince TT Bandit OS (my main stick), and an older model Prince graphite racquet, 100 sq in.
Using Prince Premier softflex on both racquets.
I play an all-court type of game, mixing in baseline play (70%) and coming to net (30%)
Players that I have always especially liked are Gustavo Kuerten and Andy Roddick.
I've played on hardcourts all my life.
I'm a 4.0 and improving every time I play.
I use a semi-western forehand grip and a two-handed backhand.

-age 20 (gonna be 21 in ... 2 weeks) ... 5feet 7inches

-started tennis in early june (i know im still a noob)

-main gun is the n6.1 95 16x18 with pacific poly strings at 55

-recreational gun is the Hypercarbon Hammer 5 with ALU rough 16L at 56 (proly lost tension so figure like 53-52 now)

-play 3-5 feet behind baseline but can goto net to finish off points

-i <3 rafael nadal, roger and of course roddick... but i like nadal's game the best, but i also think roger's game is just pure artistry...

-i can say im 3.0 now... and getting better every minute i hit... im trying to add more wrist into the forehand to generate extra spin

-semi-western grip forehand and conti 2 handed back hand

I turned 17 today.
My height is 165 cm which is around 5'5"-5'6" I think and I weight 50kg.
I use a Prince TT Bandit MP that I hate.
I´ve only played for a few months so I havent really developed good strokes (to be honest they suck) nor a play-style though I'm really interested in the Serve and Volley world.
Player that inspires me the most: Andre Agassi
My NTRP would probably be like 1.5.
I think I use a eastern and sometimes semi-western grip on my forehand and I'm trying to learn the 1HB since it feels more natural to me.

Congratulations in advance Ramseszerg!

I use a semi-western forehand grip and a two-handed backhand.

I am 21, 5'11, 190.
I use an estusa power beam braided strung at 62 pounds with gamma tnt 15L.
I mix up my style of play (used to be solely counter puncher, now I am more aggressive from the baseline and mix in serve and volley).
I've played on hard courts all my life, except a few times on har tru.
I am probably a 4.5 right now (I was one of the best in my 4.0 league, but used to be better, maybe 5.0 3 years ago, not sure).

I use the Dunlop Mfil 300(got 3 of it)

I use the Kirschbaum super smash string

I play baseline most of the time, not coming to the net that often, but attacking from baseline but I finish of the point sometime with an volley!

I loved Edberg and now I prolly like Federer and Blake the most!

racket: yonex rds 002
strings: kirschbaum p2 17g
playing style: depends who i'm playing against. ranges from all court, junk baller and counter puncher. i don't hit it super-hard because i've got a small frame. i use my opponent's power and channel it into my own, right back at him (well, not straight at him. to the side, depends). i'm small, but i can beat some of the best because i hit deep and place it well. my tenacity sometimes screws up my opponent.
pro players: djokovic, baghdatis, lendl, connors, borg, mcenroe. don't really have an admired one.
surface: probably a slow one. i train on a slow hard court, don't know what the stuff's called though
handedness: right
ranking: thai toyota circuit u14 ranked 20 (out of a LOT of people). still improving though! :)
serve: pretty slow, about 140km/h. i rely on groundstrokes.
grip: extreme eastern forehand, 2-hand backhand
weapons: consistency, placement, depth, and the occasional extra-power shot when needed. sometimes i go to the net, sometimes i drop-shot. i just use my weapons when needed.

I don't have trouble with it after I added lead. Without lead it is more flexible but too low on power and needs very fast swing. Then fast swing requires critical timing, so in matches it did me no good. My backhand can't handle it, but then it can't handle any other racket either, because it itself is bad. Overall, I don't have problems. I have used it for 5 months after I got it in January. Best racket I have enjoyed so far. A little lead on 10/2 position makes it much more better. Stock form is very flexible and jarring, and sweet spot is too low.

Forehand: A bit west of eastern. Learnt to play flat as a kid

Backhand: 1HBH. My coach when I was little was very old school

Nice thread. Bump.

Age: 15 (soon to be 16 :D )
Height: 5'9" ish
Weight: 147ish
Racquet: Fischer Pro Number one (red/black/white)
Strings: Synthetic guts. No real preference
Play style: I'm not sure. I try to hit the ball deep from the baseline, but I also like to come in. I guess you could say i'm an all courter, but i'm not very good at it. I'm like split between slice bhs and regular bhs and do a lot of slice FHs (need to stop in some instances) :D
Players that I Like: Roger Federer, Marat Safin, Andre Agassi. More recently, i've started to get interested in Murray, Rafter, and Edberg.
Courts: I typically play on hardcourts. Indoors/outdoors, not sure which one I like better though.
NTRP: Honestly, I've never really checked with a coach, and i'm not a big fan of self rating because i could be off. Probably floating in the 3.0-3.5 area though.
Grips: Semiwestern forehand, 2 handed backhand (Right: continental, Left: Extreme eastern/SW)
Grip size: 4 1/2. (Playing with a 4 3/8 w/ 2 overgrips right now)
Overgrip: Tournagrip right now, probably gonna try some supergrap
Shock Dampener: Rubber band

Oui, c'est moi.

Age: 22

Height: 5'4"/163 cm

Weight: 128

Racquet: Prince O3 Hybrid Shark MP

Playing Style: Finesse Baseliner/All Courter(why doesn't anyone use all around?)

Strings: Prince Syn Gut with Duraflex

Best Surface: I guess hard since I've never played on grass or clay, so sad. I might like clay though.

NTRP: 3.0

Handedness: Left

Serve: Probably around 70 with my old form and when serving flat. Now probably <60 but full of spin.

Forehand: Western/semi western. Sometimes continental or eastern.

Backhand: One handed, eastern? sometimes western I think too.

Volley: Usually crap especially since I recently switched rackets. A surprise good one here and there.

Biggest "surprise shot": Cross court backhand on the line/corner. Unintended or intended return of serve drop shot.

'Best weapon': Serve, forehand.

Strings are at 55 lbs btw
We're almost the same person...

Except...

Weight: fluctuates, but i'm around 123 lbs
Racket: ncode ntour two
I have played on grass and it's my fave surface. Tend to play more on HCs
NTRP: i don't know i'm British, judging by the category descriptions i'm 3.5-4.0
Handedness: usually right
Serve: no idea
Forehand: always full or semi western
Biggest suprise shot: i only have suprise shots in squash :(
Biggest weapon: Forehand, esp cc

HOLY THREAD BUMPAGE! Thought it would be interesting to update.

Age: 27 **29

Height: 6.0" dead on

Weight: 104kg (wow have I got fat!!) **96kg, still fat

Racquet: 2*LM Radical MPs, 2*6.0 95s ** 2*Vantage 95"

Playing Style: Big hitter, used to S&V a lot, less now. ** More baseline now

Strings: Klip Legend 17g @61 in the Radicals, Sensation NXT @ 60 for the 6.0s ***Klip Legend 17g @59, experimenting with poly at the moment

Best Surface: Hard court, but love clay (grew up on this).

NTRP: No idea (UK), don't play competitions anymore. ***Have restarted, officially 9.1 LTA in UK. Really about 6 but moving up takes forever here.

Handedness: Right

Serve: Fastest clocked at 104 6yrs ago, probably more like 90 now. Average about 80 *** 97MPH last week

Forehand: A bit west of eastern. Learnt to play flat as a kid

Backhand: 1HBH. My coach when I was little was very old school ***Have now learnt a two hander which I am using whenever I hit topspin now. Slice is still 1H

Volley: Love them

'Best weapon': Flat groundstrokes, hit hard. Return of serve

Used to play a lot and then got a job, got fat and don't have the time or fitness anymore. Working on the fitness, now I just have to find some time....:). Been playing since I was 5yrs old ****Unfortunately no change here!

Cheers for the format, made it easier.[/QUOTE]

Age: 33

Height: 6'4"

Weight: 235 lbs.

Racquet: K90 and Prostaff Tour 90 (NXT on both; 57lbs)

Playing Style: S&V

Best Surface: everything buy clay

NTRP: not rated

Handedness: Right handed

Biggest weapon: my personality :-)
You sound like a beefier McEnroe! :)

My player profile:

Age: 19

Height: 6'

Weight: 182 lbs.

Racquet: Fischer M Pro (red/black version)

Playing style: Serve and volley

Strings: Babolat VS (50 lbs tension and looking to go lower)

Best surface: Hard courts, because that is all that is available to me at this time. However, based on my style of play, I think I would be best suited to fast grass.

NTRP rating: I'm guessing 3.5

Handedness: Right handed

Serve: I'm not sure of the exact speed, but my best serve hit the fence against Oklahoma wind, so I'm guessing I top out in the 80s. Second serve is a major weakness right now.

Forehand: Semi Western

Backhand: Eastern one handed backhand. Love to slice as well.

Volley: Obviously I use Continental for volleying. If I have a little extra time to set up for a backhand volley I'll cheat over to my beloved Eastern backhand grip though. My favorite volley is the forehand drop volley.

Strengths: Forehand, slice backhand, volleys.

Weaknesses: Serve, topspin backhand, movement.

Players I like: Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Goran Ivanesevic, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Richard Gasquet, Jo Wilfred Tsonga, Fabrice Santoro, Nicolas Mahut, Michael Llodra, Marcos Baghdatis, Fernando Gonzalez, Feliciano Lopez.

Players I don't like: James Blake, Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal.

Age: Might as well say 19

Height: 6'

Weight: Last checked @ 140

Shtick: currently 2 (need more) Lacoste Top 341 Graphite leaded to 13 oz., 7-8 pts. HL

String: Any soft multi. (I like to experiment) @ 57 lbs. and preferably royal blue

Hand: Right

Surface: Fast N.E.O. Hardcourts, baby

NTRP: not official (computer), but told 4.5+ range by coaches

Serves: flat T and corner, T slice, T and corner topspin, with the first being quite fast. I have a number in mind but I'm waiting for backup in the 100+ thread. Serves are probably my biggest weapon, tied with forehand.

Forehand: big swing, fastest groundstroke I have, using Eastern and Continental, but thanks to a very odd wrist I put a lot of topspin on when desired. Think Gulbis-style with more consistency (it's my most consistent, reliable shot). Also can hit heavy slice (drive OR drop).

Backhand: One-hander with Continental and eastern BH grip, flat drive, topspin, dropshots, and slice.

Volleys: Continental, Mostly punch-style off both wings, heavy angles. If I'm gonna volley I aim to finish the point.

Style: All court, S&V on serve mostly, aggressive baseline into chip n' charge on GOOD returns. On return same as above without S&V.

Strengths: Serve and Forehand, agility, "external" mental game

Weaknesses: "internal" mental game, my lower back, LOW balls to my backhand, being at net when my opponent is hammering from behind the baseline.

Players I Like/Relate To: I posted in a different thread a few days ago that I would be like "if Gulbis and Edberg had a baby with their better respective qualities that was godfathered by Fed". Also my favorites to watch. Note: I don't I'm as good as any of them, but my game would that sort of combination, if that makes sense.

Age-Younger than you

Height-5'2

Weight-94 pounds (all muscle)

Racquet-Yonex Rqis 1 tour

String-Clear Prince Lightning, with a yonex vibe dampener and red yonex supergrap

Hand-Right

Surface-Green clay or slow hardcourts

NTRP-Junior, but I beat 4.5 players consistently, so 5.0

Forehand-I use an extreme eastern grip similar to Ana Ivanovic. I have changed from a huge loop to a compact swing, and I hit pretty flat but am developing on more topspin. Not a weakness, it's a good shot, but it's not my weapon

Backhand-This is my weapon. I always take it very early and hit it extremeley flat. I am very good at the down the line and the close angles. I hit it with two hands.

Serves-With continental grip. Best serve is flat and down the T. I have a good spin serve and working on getting more kick. Second serve has developed so much, no longer such a huge liability. Can hit in the 80s on a good day.

Volleys-I use a continental grip and a two handed backhand volley. Hit hard, and deep angles that skid after they bounce. I come to net a good bit and I've improved my volleys alot.

Type of play-I play an all court game. I can be consistent and win points, and I finish tons of points at net. I have a good transition game, which helps.

Strengths-Backhand, SPEED, competitivness

Weaknesses-2nd serve, my emotions

Player I play most like
Woman-Jelena Jankovic (Huge resembalence here)
Man-Novak Djokovic

Other-Right now I'm 15 in the state for my age, but that's only for playing 8 tournaments this year whereas the top 10 play like, 20. I've beaten the 6 and 7 numerous times, along with the 10 and 9. The 1, 3 and 4 all age up soon, and next year I'm playing way more tournaments, so I'm bound to move up. I'm 232 in the south, but thats only after playing one level 3...so thats pretty good.

oh well ppl dnt really believe me unless they actually see me. just cus im not a 6 foot tall person and nt in their 20's doesnt mean i cant reach that speed on a rare basis and yes i been playin since i was 5 and stoppin for a year so in total i've played for more than 10 yrs. at first i hated this game to b honest and i was a fat unsporty kid and was forced to play tennis and my parents spent heaps of money on it cus where i used to live as a kid it was super cheap coaching and we got well paid jobs. I only became in love with this game a few years recently.

ok then, I'm bored.

-age- 33... forgot to tell everyone i was 33 1/3 a few months ago. i work in a record store so it might have gotten some laughs.
-height- 5'10"
-weight- 175ish, i drank too much beer in my 20s and the beer belly never went away
-i only play on hardcourts. in AZ grass dies and clay turns to dust.
-racquet- Head ti5300x2, weighted up to around 12 oz. 15L or 16 gauge syngut at 61lbs. hi tech grips and gamma supreme overgrips or tournagrip.
-fav players- Santoro, Muster, Mecir, Fed, Roddick, Simon, Lapentti, Clement, Patty Schnyder, Monica Niculescu, Jie Zheng
-baseliner because i don't have the coordination to volley well. I just try to pound groundies until a get a short ball i can put away.
-eastern 1hbh with lots of topspin, looks just like Muster's. It's a good shot, i run around my forehand when I can.
-moving from an open stance eastern forehand (like mecir or sanguinetti) to a western forehand with a square stance (like roddick). i'm trying to get more spin on it so it will be consistent.
- 3.0 level
-I copy my serve from Santoro and I hit an occasional 2h slice forehand like him. tough to do consistently and keep in the court though...
