Looks great! I've yet to see any blue courts I can play on around me. Love to try it, though.

I don't know about the best but I will tell you what the worst is: the stuff they use at the Australian Open.

I really like blue or dark purpulish courts, but I tend to dislike the green around them. Dunno why though.

I play on green. I know.........boring huh?

But a court is a court so I don't care.

At the racquet clubs they have blue though. :)

I luv that blue. Only blue courts I know of are at this indoor facility but cost an arm and a leg just to play there. There is another indoor club and their courts are a light tan/brown. Nasty

I really would like to play on one of those blue courts surrounded by green. I have only played on all green courts and green surrounded by red hard courts and also har-tru courts.

The courts where my county hosts the H.S. boys & girls championships has blue courts w/a reddish hue & they're terrific. Must easier to see the ball & call lines it seems.

I prefer green because when I play on a different color it feels weird. I am just used to green, even though i think they are ugly.

i like the type you posted swissv. i hate the ones which are green surrounded by brown. if i could make my own, it would be white (with black lines), surrounded by blue, that would be easy to see the ball :D

Swissv2

ewww, white - that would get all dirty skuff marks and plus it would be blinding IMO.

They were completely resurfaced. The board decided they like those colors and there you go. The only reason why the courts are so nice (even the courts before the resurfacing were very nice) is that the courts are tucked away out of sight so very few people know about them.

You can't see it from the street, the courts are public so there are no advertisements about it (no need for profit), and the courts are located in a quiet residential area so you would really have to seek it out to find it.

We have blue courts at our club (a lighter shade than the pics posted in this thread).

I was totally pumped when the US Open moved from green to blue courts - much easier on the eyes imo....

alone = along?

I live one state away from California :)
I would bet if the courts were in cali, then it would be very busy. The courts are busy enough as it is right now, but the people that go to the courts are the same people almost every day.

Those are the same color combo of courts i usualy play on. I also played on the US Open Blue/Green courts for most of the summer:D. However, on one tennis court i go to its all green (boring) and one is Green with Red on the outside. My high school courts are also boring since they are all green:-|

My Favorite has to be the Blue/Green...its so much easier to see the ball that way.

My HS Courts by the way:

I've played on several different USTA blue courts. I like the dark blue ones like some of the photos, but the USTA is going with a lighter blue lately.

I don't care for that. The lighter USTA blues causes glare for me

Blue is absolutely out of the question for many areas. The reason for this is that some birds, namely seagulls, poop on water when they fly, and when they're high up, blue court looks like water.

There's a club we used to visit for our league and they had blue courts and it was full of bird poop. I even got pooped on my hand during play. And this club is more than 10km from the lake.

Swissv2
08-13-2006, 12:16 PM
EWWWW - hahahahaha

sorry, but that kinda made me laugh. Well, time will tell to see what the birds do around our courts. you would think it would be even worse for people in a pool with the birds flying around.

The only birds I actually do see here on a regular basis are the little pipsqueak birds, and quail. But they barely venture close to the courts.

It sounds like the glow in the dark indoor putt putt. That is some tough putt putt. I dont think it caught on because dang it you can't see anything even with the glow in the dark. Needless to say those putt putt places are no longer in business.

Red and blue at my school.
http://ee.1asphost.com/KuR0k4g3/goodgod.JPGI've played on the *reverse* of these (Blue inside; Red outside). I liked them. I'm not so sure I'd like your courts.

I've actually been researching this for our (hoped for) backyard. Go to Plexipave's Site (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=1073469&postcount=42) and click on the Color Preview Link on the left side to play around with the colors they have. Living at altitude, where the sun damages darker colors badly, I'd like Blue in / Cape Gray out ... or Dark Green / Sahara Sand.

A few courts around here have Blue / Gray. They are nice.

we use those courts for half court basketball so more people (according to my school) can play. But its a stupid idea of coruse, we have a full basketball court next to that one and it seems to be able to hold 30+ people.
Where as that court shown in the picture is overflown.
It's half filled with soccer people who obviously cnat play on the soccer field we have... - 25+ people
Other half is by half court bballers- 15 people.
Honestly 40 people is a too much for a court..bloody soccerfreaks

Nice courts; and nice to see Century Sport's "breast cancer donation" notation on the net's center strap.

I play almost exclusively on soft courts (clay/Har-tru), but if we're talking 'hard' than yellow balls against blue courts is a lot better than having yellow courts and blue balls.

Saying that you see the ball better on blue courts than on green - when playing - is pure BS.

Anyone with half decent eyesight will see the ball fine on any color of court that is not close to the color of the ball.

The reason that the Pro courts went purple, then blue was for television, NOT for the players.

Jeez... 100 years of green courts - and I never heard one complaint that a player couldn't see the ball properly. Get real, people.

By the way, both the blue and purple paint tends to end up on the ball more than does any other color.

I like red clay, wherever that might be.... but I used to like the color of the Cincinnati courts before this US open series began. it was like some sort of purple.
I also liked the blue courts of Athens 2004, and the carpet of Madrid.
