Isn't it wierd that lot of top french players are sponsored by Head and Lacoste? I know that a number of french players are sponsored by Lacoste, since it's a french company, but it always seems like a combination with Head rackets. Gasquet, Grasjean, Santoro, Clement, and some other WTA players that I can't think of.

No, NIKE signs MONFILS for a "certain demographic". In the inner-city I know, what he wears isn't seen, much less popular. The most airtime he has had is winning the Paddle Tennis @ the Tennis Channel Open.

I spoke with a Head rep today in Cincy at the Western & Southern Financial Masters, and he told me that Head just signed a contract with the ATP which states that any one in the top 300 in the world can get Head product. Not sure about the WTA, but I did notice today that I saw a LOT of Head bags and racquets. I think that it's coincidence with the Lacoste thing, but there are a lot of French men in the top 300 if you think about it.

Most of the Morroccan players train in france or at least speak french. I think Arazi also played with head racquets as well.

Head / Wilson / Babolat are pretty close. I'm not sure that Babolat is the biggest (yet)

Babolat not even in the top 3...Wilson, Head and Prince still are the market leaders. Those are the ONLY brands I saw in stores while travelling in Central Europe the past 2 years. (I was not in France)

maybe you give some numbers, but i'm pretty sure that Head / Wilson / Babolat are far ahead from Prince, worldwide and especially in Europe. Prince isn't selling many frames in Europe, except in higher price range.

Well he's talking about Babolat being big in France because it's a french company. Head & Wilson are not.

Don't know if you had a look at my profile but I'm French
Now, I live in Paris, but I had all my childhood in Lyon, where Babolat is established since 1874 :D
Head is an Austrian company, Wilson a US one
