I am sure you love this song but have you seen this video version of it? It seems more haunting. The most painful yet memorable and possibly best song of all time:

Enjoy the Silence. Fantastic track, but no way near best song of all time, in any terms :)

Hmmm never saw this video before.
Maybe the haunting feeling you're having is because they are singing on top of one of the World Trade Center towers?

Not particularly my sort of music, but I tried it. I'm a Roy Orbison sort of guy.

Was there ever a time when Depeche Mode was really, really really, really, popular? I've always remembered them as a good band, but without a lot of hype. They've just been ~there~ for many years and feels like they always are, like the rising sun. And they still make good music...

I went to a Depeche Mode concert 2 weeks ago.. They were unbelieable, playing their greatest hits and some of their new album.
And Dave Gaham is so hot on concert!!
Have they made a pact with the devil or something?:)

No, they were never really*times 5 popular. But look at their longevity, look at each record they have released - 50% or more of their songs are amazing. And last but not least, Gahan almost died of overdose in the mid 90s and is back touring week in and week out. Martin Gore is a genius, he writes all their songs and composes the music too.
