View Full Version : Unconventional strokes?

Do you have any unconventional strokes that you would like to confess here? Let me make my confession here first, I use a semi-western forehand grip to volley on the forehand side. I just can't use the continental as I am supposed to. I also use the SW to serve once in a while but thats just too freaky even for this board.
I hit a reverse slice serve fairly often, which I'd say is fairly unconventional.

What the hell is that?
Instead of striking the ball left to right, from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock (I'm a righty), I sometimes rip the serve right to left, 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock. This makes the ball curve to my opponent's backhand (if he's a righty), which is probably what you want in most cases. It curves like a lefty's slice serve, which catches a lot of players by surprise because I set them up with a traditional slice for a game or two before I start throwing in the reverse.
Moon ball slap serve. Yes it works but it messes up their strokes because thier not used to it.
Sometimes I charge in to put pressure on him.
