Thanks bludiamond, i am currently a Pure Storm user and look forward to the upgrade

I hope they add some heft to that frame to bring it up to at least 11.5oz. The Storm was supposed to be the successor to the PC MP wasn't it?

do you all think it will be signifcantly better than the current model?

I would LOVE a tad of added weight... Then again, Maybe I ought to try the Pure Control...

I saw one of those cortex PD's in the pro shop last week. They remind me of the Wilson Triad crap.

so is it just a rumor or are they really coming out, if so how do you know these
in other words who are your sources

I've actually switched racquets (having been a long time PD user) after the cortex was introduced with the PD. The racquet doesn't feel the same (worse) to me as the original PD.

I talked to my local tennis shop about this since I want to stick with the current pure storm (I see no reason to add cortex) but they hadn't heard anything at all.

I also asked the owner of my local shop... He has not heard anything and he talks to a Babolat rep every couple days. He said he will ask him about it, I'll let you guys know what he says...

Ugh....I just ordered a new PD. Why oh why does the new PS(not prostaff) have to come out now!!!!!

can someone tell me what is the distinct difference between pure drive and say pure storm .. i know pure drive is a little heavier ... and the racquet head size is only marginal larger .. but the specs are relatively the similar . i dont see what the difference will be? any thoughts

may be it is becos there are so many racquets in the market.that are so simialr .(even within the same manufacuturer) so i cant really tell what will be the definitive difference

Yeah, that cortex thing looks really cheap and dodgy.

The big difference in specs is the shape and stiffness. They play fairly different.. Do a search, there may be a million threads on the Pure Storm VS other Babolats. We Pure Storm users seem to be some of the most loyal.

Well it definitely feels better than the old Pd. I never would have guessed how stiff the PD was if I had just played with this racquet. It's great.

the Pure drive was great, but then i tried the storm and loved it. havent ever tried the PD with cortex but i have heard good things about it

I liked "daggy" - that was a good one

I don't like the cortex, I can't feel that ball.

Interesting to look back at an old thread like this and see how much bogus "information" about new products people pass along.

The cortex technology is a big FAKEĦĦĦĦĦ

I have two PD`s one with, and other without and i can confirm... It`s a FAKE.

Cortex makes a difference? Has anyone tried contacting Babolat? That's what I did when there were rumors of an updated AeroPro line.

01-25-2007, 04:26 AM
Pure storm team has flex rating 64, so no need for comfort gimmicks

02-08-2007, 01:11 AM
ok...the babolat pure storm with cortex will come out...but i think it won't be that soon. maybe french open or even later
