If I string normally between 58 and 60, what tension should i use for poly strings?

It depends on the string. Some polys are softer than others. The stiffer ones are typically strung about 10% lower (so maybe 53 or 54 for your example), but some softer polys don't need any drop from your usual tension. Bottom line, though, is what feels best to you.

If i were you I would try a softer poly and then string 5% lower than normal. If you were at 60, maybe try 57. Poly is notorious for losing tension fast, and that will help get you a few extra days of playability. Tecnifibre Red Code and SPPP are soft polys, and they hold their tension better than many others as well. Try those 5% lower than synths/multis/guts.

Try 50 and go up, if necessary.

For Polystar Energy use the same tension. For all others, take it 5-10% down for comparable play.

also keep things like: type of racket, string diameters in mind, and open or dense stringpattern..

if you are using a dense stringbed start out 10% lower. with an open stringpattern its a little easier to take, so i would start with a drop of 5%.

of course this al depends on the string you're planning to use.

factors like stringstiffnes, stringdiameter, type of racket play a role here too.
