Hey guys,

I use the pure control plus and string it with Luxilon timo 17. One of my teachers told me that I should try using an 18 in the crosses, because crosses are all feel, were as the mains are the power. How would the big banger ACE 18 work in there? Any other ones should I try and is this a good setup?

Thanks,

Matt

Putting 18 gauge of the same string probably won't make much difference. I have put natural gut cross on mine w/ Timo 17 main, and it feels great.

how do you string it with two pieces? Do you just tie off where you would start the crosses, and then start the crosses on those ones? Could you provide me with the tie off holes? Thanks

I don't have my rackets with me now, so I can't tell you precisely where to start or finish. But, basically, you isolate top 3-4 cross strings. You may lose a little bit of tension but it actually helps reduce the usually dead upper hoop effect considerably, resulting more consistent string bed.

what do you mean by isolate top 3 crosses?
