Both the positive and negative aspects of his playing style.

I generally stick to my KPS88 or K90 but I recently bought a Slazenger pro braided off the boards so I could have a slightly lighter frame for days I felt tired from my workout schedule. I don't know what it is strung with or what tension and it has lead at 10 and 2. For some strange reason it momentarily added these characteristics to my game:

-Much bigger ark and noticeably more spin on the forehand
-able to move opponent around easily with forehand
-able to put balls back in play easily that I run for when stretched
-an extreme and odd amount of consistency
-a backhand that lands short in the court
-a more spinny but less penetrating serve
-odd ease when slicing
-few errors but clear weakness on the backhand side

When watching Nadal over the years I always wondered how he got certain balls back in play on the stretch and it seems I was able to easily do that with this frame. This was on a hard court and it definitely tired out my opponent I can only imagine what it would be like to play like this on a clay court.

I will still stick to my KPS88 and K90 because I prefer the aggressive attacking style of play as well as balls not coming back when I hit a good shot instead of moving my opponent around but I have to say the Nadalesque style I was playing just seemed so easy..

Up til a year ago it was my go-to site for live scores and random tennis articles on players, equipments, etc.

Then they decided to redesign it and ruined the whole experience for me.
Very poor font throughout the front page, the live scores section now being redesigned twice and still not working as well as the old feature.

The articles and content are all still there, its just the design of the site that bugs me.

For the remainder of the year I'm just gonna stick with espn or the tournaments sites for scores. Articles and such i'll get here on the forum.

Further evidence that Federer's level declined post-2007

Recently I came across some posts still ridiculing the notion that Federer was in decline after 2007. I have posted previously on this topic, but, inspired by the above posts, I would like to present some further evidence.

Federer's win percentages by season tell quite a story of decline (93-95% from '04-'06, 88% in '07, 82-84% from '08-'11, and 86% in '12). Of course it is conceivable (though unlikely) that these declining win percentages could have been the result of the entire field getting stronger between 2008 and 2012. To disprove this notion, in a previous thread about historical performances by age I had argued that after the age of 26, performances decline swiftly for all but a few outliers.

The two tables below track Federer's performances in Finals+SFs and QF+R16 matches respectively. (I have lumped together the years in the analysis for simplicity, but I present the break-out by year as an appendix below - rest assured they don't change the story)

This table provides CLEAR AND IRREFUTABLE evidence that against the top guys, ie in semis and finals he was SIMPLY NOT the same player from 2008 and on, that he was in the golden years 2004-2007.

Interestingly, the second table suggests that Federer's performances in quarters, rounds of 16 (and presumably lower rounds) did not decline after 2007. This could be why the belief that he was still in his peak post-2007 has been so persistent.

Hope this is helpful

I tried an old Head LM Instinct for a while but couldn't generate enough power. I've tried Babolats but my game just didn't take advantage of what they offered. Anyone have a racket suggestion - preferably one that doesn't require massive customization.

If I won lotto, aside from everything else (houses, cars, donations to charity, family) I would give up work and get one on one tennis lessons twice a day. I would pretty much spend my life trying to become the best tennis player I could possibly be.

This would include fitness trainers and physios.

I would build a private court at the back of my house.

Id go and play as many tournaments as I could.

I'd travel to any tournaments Id be keen to see anywhere in the world, and sit courtside.

If you won lotto, what tennis related stuff would you spend it on?

As much as I want to use it forever, I know that eventually it will crack or break out after years of use. Thus I am in the market now to look for a racquet with a similar feel and specs. Have anyone played with the old Tfight 325 and found a replacement?
