same thing really....
Nah, I love Roger and admittedly watch less tennis when he's not playing, but tennis is bigger than any one player and there are many good stories currently playing out in the sport. Ler's hope RG & Wimbledon are not victims of this virus, but it's not looking so good atm ...

(Sent from my mobile phone, apologies for typos!)

He's said repeatedly he's has no interest to play doubles after his retirement from singles, so....

Laver Cup is a business, a great success so far.
Federer will do anything in his power to keep this event going for many more years.

Laver Cup now in ruins. Roland Garros just ran over it.
Welp...

RG really didn’t think this through.... absolutely a dumb idea, gonna be slow tennis.

Laver Cup is just going to be two guys who don't care about playing the French.

Get ready for Fed vs Nick for 3 straight days!

Fed talks earlier today about the pandemic. He says:

Thank you very much Mr. Federal Councilor, I too have not shaken hands for quite some time now, I simply do not shake hands and I stay completely and totally at home...I wash my hands thoroughly and frequently like we're told to do...

I think that helping one another now is more important than ever before. Protect the older generation and you have to keep distance. They’re the ones at highest risk and we need to help them by keeping a distance of two meters and not shake hands. It’s really important to take these rules seriously. Very very seriously.

Eventually, we could all be in quarantine and not be able to leave the house anymore so I really hope all of us take it very seriously."

They will regret this decision if things would improve significantly till July, because you never know what the future might hold. With no Olympics scheduled this year, a postponement would have been better, just like Roland Garros did.A lot of things can happen in 3-4 months from now.

Absolutely sick slicing here at 3:00. Look at how vicious his slice was. Definitely haven't seen that in years.
The racket change in 2013/14 really compromised both his FH and slice, but especially the slice. Roger's slice now just sorta sits up instead of staying at ankle level.

Hearing some possibly click-bait reports that Fed’s recovery is still ongoing and not as far along as hoped.

Anyone hearing anything reliable lately about how he’s doing?

He's fine and he has been practicing, and it's smoke and mirrors from his camp. Sev said on SRF TV three days ago:

Roger didn't recover as fast as we expected…There were two weeks where his progress was slower, it was a little complicated, but now everything has accelerated.”

So his remark was about March and early April, not now. In 2016 when he had his first meniscus intervention, he was back hitting balls in 3 weeks. This time it was 5 weeks, no big deal at all.

Crazy how the clickbait article just cut the second part of Sev's quote. Fake news at its worst.

Well I'd like to ask again where it said those 2 weeks were in March & April. Because I still can't find anything that says that.

Maybe it is as @BeatlesFan says: smoke and mirrors from his camp.

I guess they would not want folks to have high expectations of Fed wether it’s fans or opponents.

I just would like to see the Fed again in competition and in decent shape. Which for Fed is great for just about anyone else.

It was in the Basler Zeitung which is behind a pay wall. But the Sev quote is verbatim what he said. There have been multiple pics of him hitting indoors the past month in any case. When he says he's not training, he's being disingenuous at best.

Have to think Fed is also thinking it is a bad look to be showing videos of him practicing and talking about it considering many players don't have that ability. Even Djoker alluded to that himself.

Fed done for the year.

Well, what a weird tennis year this turned out to be. Wonder if he has the feeling that there will be no tennis played (at least the USO) considering Djoker just made a weird statement too.
