Anyone played two of three of these? I have 3 Volkl Tour 10 Mids and one MG Prestige Mid. I'm looking for the "modern" equivalent to the Tour 10 Mid. The MG Prestige Mid doesn't quite get it. I was wondering if the newer Head Graphene 360+ Prestige Mid or the PP93P 18x20 approximate the Tour 10 Mids?
I haven't played the VT10M, but I have hit with the PB10 Mid, G360+ Prestige Mid, and Phantom Pro 93P 18x20. I would say that the Prince would be the closer of the two to the Völkl. The G360+ PM was on the firm side for me (still comfortable), but I would have to use a Hybrid set-up with Gut or a Syn Gut or Multi in the Mains to gain that softer feel old-school Völkls and Heads have. The 93P had that softer feel (even with Hyper-G 1.15mm full-bed), and would be even better in a hybrid set-up.
I found both the G360+ Prestige Mid and the Phantom Pro 93P to be extensions of my arm. The 93P is the more substantial of the two when it comes to the static weight (and closer to the Völkl), but is very precise and low powered. I modified my 93P with a bit of weight in the head (about 1g at 3 & 9 respectively), and added weight at 7" above the butt cap to counter-balance. I also use an overgrip, but that would apply to both racquets equally. The G360+ Prestige Mid was my friends racquet so I could not make modifications to it (but they would be more extensive than the 93P due to the lower static weight). I think the G360+ Prestige Mid would have a bit more power, especially if modified to the same specs, but the 93P would have more precision due to the 18x20 pattern. The 93P is so great in this respect, that it almost dares you to go for smaller targets and more flair and creativity.
I did not have any problem with the Phantom head shape (in fact I found it great), but some have, and it's something to consider as the 360+ PM would be the more traditional head shape of the two. I also don't have a problem playing with both the Head 360+ Speed Pro and Gravity Pro, just for reference (when it comes to head shapes). I've never had a problem with the PB10 Mid or the C10 Pro (or Yonex frames, for that matter).
I would pick the 93P out of the two (clearly, since I own one and not the G360+ PM), but both are great, and depending on ones personal needs and preferences, the choice could be different.
Hope that helps.
