I'm looking for the most fierce and harsh strings available. I really don't want to use BB ALU Power again, to me I think it looses a lot of tension quick. I am looking for 1.25 or bigger Metal Like strings. Doesn't have to be polyester, could be a hybrid. I want such a harsh string that It feels like I have metal wire in my racquet.
I have good strong arms and can take harsh vibrations. I string my ALU Power to 62 and 65 once.

Something GUN METAL will be good. Something that will make the racquet feel like a ball hitting a brick.

IF you guys know any strings similar to these features, PLEASE Let me know as soon as possible. Thank you all so much.

Just use metal wire :D. Though Kevlar would be the obvious choice, I am wondering if something like a poly mains/kevlar crosses hybrid would be a good choice. Is that advisable at all or would the kevlar destroy the poly?

Never tried kevlar before, always poly
but generally, does kevlar at 50 lb equal to poly at 60 lb?

Thank you guys. I will purchase Ashaway Crossfire II 16 kevler String. Hopefully it suits what I want. What string tension should I use? I mentioned earlier that I used to use ALU power @ 62 and 65 sometimes.

Is the statement of CUKOO correct?
And lastly, are there any other strings that will suit me other than the ashaway crossfire II 16 kevler? Here is the Link http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageACASH-XFIRE2.html

Thank you all once again, more recommendations will be helpful.
Do they seriously make Bronze wires?!?

will you be playing somebody you despise and you will try to sabotage his racquets so he will borrow a racquet from you that will give him
"Tennis Elbow OS"?

For some reason I don't get tennis elbow. I'm a powerful weightlifter.
I like the vibration feedback. Also, I don't mind really high tension strings.

ah I see, I guess I'm just one of those "weak arms" people

Oh, I'm sure If people have tennis elbow often and they work out 3-4 times a week for a hour or less , there elbow and arms will become stronger. And then they wont have tennis elbow. Just a little tip.

Laserfibre Eternal is a good strong stiff string. I string it as a hybrid in a guy's racket and he's a hard hitter. It still lasts a year. Durability is just one of the string's characteristics. It plays like a brick at 50,55 or 60#.

Im looking for the string closest to metal. Well, something like that. Really tough and less tension loss overtime.

I'd check Prince ProBlend, that stuff is pretty stiff.

That string looses tension like crazy.;)
I had to cut it less than 5 hours of play.

I will purchase 2 or maybe 3 Ashaway Crossfire II 16 Kevlar String: here is the link.

Could Someone please let me know what will be a good tension according to my needs in my first post.

My max is 62 on my FXP instinct. This string is a hybrid with kevler and synthetic gut. Thank you all once again!

This information will greatly help me. Thank you.

What do you mean out the window? Do you mean I shouldn't think about it being really high? or Do you mean I should tension it real high?

Yonex, because they are so stiff, USRSA recommends stringing Kevlar/Aramid fiber strings 10% lower than normal to approximate the feel of nylon strings. Most people use a syn gut in the crosses to help dampen the stiffness of the Kevlar mains. String tension is a personal choice though and you may need to do some experimenting until you find a tension that you like.

Wait, your saying that I can string my FXP instinct to 65 or 70 without damaging the frame?

Don't ever exceed the maximum tension for the frame unless you don't care about the warranty or the possibility of cracking it. As I said in my earlier post, USRSA recommends reducing the tension on Kevlar by 10% versus your normal tension.

Well.......

While I would not recommend this normally, but if you want harsh, try ProSupex Big Ace and string it up tight as you would a multifibre string. You will definately get harsh and low tension loss.

Good luck with your arm though.

Play with all the above mentioned strings at 70 lbs continuously and see how many times you come back here with that sort of attitude.

Gamma Edge

Gamma used to have a string called Gamma Edge. There was a steel wire going through the string. Someone on the message boards might have a few sets.

...Uh.. ...OK? I would never try to go for a Kevler string at 70. Max with kevler ( that I can play with) is 65.

Bicycles use vinyl covered stranded steel for brakes. May find it stiff enough but steel weighs a ton. May also eat through your grommets instead of your elbow.

I might look into that string. Looks pretty good from what I hear in this forum
There not expensive either. Ill try 18g, and buy couple of packs.

Haha, Just workout your arms. Pick up weights if you have to.

While it's true that muscle helps protect your ligaments and cartilage, it's still not a good idea trying to test out the upper limit. There IS a limit how much punishment your body can take.

Dude, I totally support that. I know my limits. I cannot go beyond 65 with kevler. I know that if you weight train and grow big muscles , it still might not support you for not getting tennis elbow.
