you can be #11 if snoflewis wants out.

i dont know about the pt630s...but i might be putting up a couple pt280s for sale in a couple weeks...please dont inquire about them yet...it's just an idea.

let me know if you still want to be a member. Personally you should not sell it but if you do you have plenty here that will buy it from you.

Woohoo... I should be receiving the CAPs for my 630's, today! :)

The 630's are nice sticks but I like my AG100s and My Prestige C600 as much, if not more. I'm hoping the CAP grommets improve the feel a bit more.

Bud you are #17, I also like the PC600 a bit more but what is the use if I make few more mishits with it. I have to be %100 on to win a close match. With the PT30 you have a bit more room, you can take larger cuts and not worry about framing the ball.

Count me in fellas. I just received my Pro Tour 630 from Germany and this thing looks brand new. Made in Austria, full CAPS, barcode on the side, black buttcap with the old Head logo on it and not a scratch on her. I'll take pics and post them when I get the chance. Im dying to hit with it, but I have so many pharmacy school applications to fill out. Thanks to VS and Michael Chaho and everyone else for the info.

#18, please weight it and take measurements if possible. how much did you buy it for? Just remember our dollar is worth crap almost %50 LESS in Europe. Many European products are very expensive for us to buy

Nice collar, who much weight did it add? probably 10 grams? the beam of the PC600 is 19mm while the PT630 is 20mm, probably there is tape to make it fit snug, is it glued? balance point will be .25cm more HL as well.

Sorry -- on a digression here ... would the absence of a collar explain why the Classic Mid is less HL and feels less muted than the PC600?

Just thought some of you might be interested in my finding.

Last night, I hit with the PT630 strung with Gosen Polyon SP 17 (50lb) / Gosen OG Micro 17 (50lb) and the feel was just nasty with vibration all over. I got that solid feel but it was not soft or buttery. However, there were more noticeable ball bite than non-poly setup.

Next, I'll put a soft multi on the main and polyon sp on the cross just to see if it feels a notch better. If not, forget about poly on this racquet. :)

good point, I also felt my classid mid was different than the Austrian PC600. Classic mid no collar, different pallet (thinner material), and different buttcap, and different leather thickness and quality

I want try Pt630 with cap plus leather grip plus plastic collar, before adding lead tape.

I forgot about PLOY on this frame many many years ago, polylon is suppose to be a soft poly but it did not play well in my PT630. Try x-1 biphase 18g with gosen OG 18g cross

I have all cyberflash on one of my PT630s, and it plays well, although dwell time is noticeably reduced compared to a gut hybrid at the same tension.

The difference of weight between the two is 10g. I need to find my balance beam to measure balance however. Yes, it is glued on.

That is a good price, since seller is only getting less than 100 Euros for a new PT630. or in the UK it is only 68 pounds.

I got it from a seller in Germany and I dont think there are anymore. I just scan that big auction site like everyone else. I want to grab a couple more that aren't in such pretty condition so that I can hit with them worry free.

K Blade Tour 93

Not to get too far off topic... but fleabay has the K Blade Tour 93 for sale. Looks pretty sweet. Are they real? Lol. They are coming from China. :)

Like I said to jayserinos99 when we were discussing the KBlade and its similarities to the Prestige/PT: "if it ain't broke, don't imitate it."

1 Austrian Pro Tour 280 (purchased from Tennis Warehouse)

1 Chinese Pro Tour 280 (purchased from Big 5 Sporting Goods at a very low price)

Yes they each play differently, but I like them both.

Both rackets have 17 gauge string at 53 pounds

#16 welcome

Put me in this club. I have on 280. If anyone here wants to sell me another or a 630, let me know. Also, if anyone has any caps to sell for the 280, email me through my profile.
#19 welcome
Count me into the club with my newly bought three PT630's with FXP paintjobs:)
#20 welcome

It says PT57A and theres a sticker saying handle (5). It has CAP grommets-was considering theese ones and LM pjs with radical grommets and about 12 grams lighter, but went with the heavier one.
They are not light, as I bought them already customized. Leather grip and almost 30 grams around the upper part of the head from 3 & 9. I string them with SuperSmash 28kgs mains /Head Master 27kgs crosses-definetly some sweet playing sticks-will get some phootos over the weekend.

Just want to update about prices and I am not happy with these prices.

The few NEW PT630 that were located at **** we gone in few hours. not sure they will get more, I doubt it. They went for $350 each.

Just recently on the big auction a used but in excellent condition early production Chinese PT280 went for $280:confused:

I am not happy with these prices they are too much and people are not getting a chance to hit with these frames.

It is getting out of control and I don't want the PT630 to be like a NEW St Vincent which fetches in upwards of $800 plus and for used ones they are going for over $300

For a $49.99 dollar PT280 that was thrown in the bins of big box stores it is surely remarkable.

Your thoughts,

I was watching the one on e*bay and was shocked it went for so much. But I have also seen PC600's go up to $250 on there as well. I may have to put mine up.

well, since you, Mr. Michael Chaho, praise it so much, that's why people think it's the Holly Grail. :) Personally, I think it's a decent racquet, but I don't think my game would change much had I play with another racquet.

People, especially on this forum, are a bunch equipment junkies who think that a decent racquet will make them the next pro! Look at all the kids and posers who got the K90 because they want to be like Fedex. :) Instead, they could use their time to practice or play more matches if they want to get better.

I'm at a point where I'm unloading all my so-called classic frames and just stick to one and spend my time improving my games instead. Same with natural gut string, i think it's over rated. I could play as well with a decent multi and save a bunch of bucks for something else. :)

funny how the pt280 goes for more than $100 bucks. I used to easily bid for them on fleabay for like $60 bucks shipped before the hype got bigger.

Wow people are really jacking up the prices on PTs and Prestiges. I miss the good ol' days when PC600s went for 60-80 bucks (I've snagged a Classic Mid for 20 bucks before).

I have noticed a shortage lately, people are just not selling fearing they will not find a better frame ( low to no supply) coupled with the weak $ people are buying them like hotcakes in the UK, Euro, Asia, HK etc....

rorschack

My main sticks are still the PT630's. If the price for the PT280 or PT630 is in the range of $200-$300 bucks, then maybe I'll just keep 3 for myself to hit with and sell the rest. Easy money eh? All I really need is 3 racquets anyway even if I play tennis for another 40 years. :) I don't hang racquets on my wall and they just sit their collecting dust. When I played for my high school varsity team (4 years at #2 in SoCal), I only had ONE racquet (Prestige 600 limegreen).

The classics I am thinking about unloading are the Prestige Pro, Pro 600, 600 lime green, PT280...:) All the collectors can outbid themselves if they like. :) At the rate they are going for, I can collect more than $1000 bucks for all of them. Nice! I guess, keep praising these racquets....(sarcasm all over)

I doubt my praise nor Alex's praise is what is making this frame popular. Did you buy your PT630 based on our praise?!?!I can praise crappy frames all day all night for few years, It will do no good if the frame plays like.........crap, plain and simple.

well look who is hyping the frame, for personal gains

too bad you sold yours for $95 when you could have gotten $300, but then again I salute your loyalty to your pledge on this one,

Okay, I admit that you, Michael Chaho and others, who praised this racquet which pointed me in this PT280/630 direction and now I play with them because I needed more pop and bigger sweet spot coming from the prestige 600 and had always been loyal to Head. But I think if I, for other reasons, found another frame that I like, I would have gotten used to it anyway; and wouldn't be hoarding up these OVER PRICED and hyped up frame.

Yup, too bad for me, I should have waited and sell it for even more than $95 bucks but I am happy with my decision since I'm not that greedy anway. :) I like to share the goods with others. I sold it because I have other pt280's and pt630's that are closer in spec in terms of balance and weight. It was not because I didn't want to play with them any more.

Hey, I read an article somewhere by a renowned pro that the Head PT630 will play much better (more sweet and well balanced) if you let it sit in the basement at slightly below room temperature for about 10 years in low humidity, just like a bottle of Barola or Bordeaux.

I better start hoarding up some more.

People are paying the crazy $$$ becuase they come on to this forum and read how "amazing" these frames are and how they are "God's gift" to tennis etc. etc. etc. and that if you have one you will play like a pro becuase all the Head pros are using the PT mold under the pjs. ****! We need to just shut up about them and stop the hype -becuase most people willing to pay >$250 for a single frame probably never grew up playing with them to begin with, can't really appreciate the frame, and don't know how else to blow their $ wad in any better way -leaving all the purests saying: "damn, I can't believe people are paying that much," and without their beloved frames. Unless of coarse you are like: "I have 1000 of these in my closet and will never sell them, so don't even ask, even though I have a 1000 of them and you don't ha ha."

In conclusion: if you have never played the PT -don't. It sucks and the new technology is light years better than that out-dated pos PT. Go with the microgel line, its got gel in it, and you won't have any problems finding it locally. Besdes the pros pj frames are just molds of the PT -not the same weight, balance, or flex of the PT that was made available to the public. Save your money and stop buying into the hype ;)

Okay, I will let the cat out and share my wealth of info and experience. For those who can not get the PT630/280, check out the Dunlop Muscle Weave 200G 95. It's very close and you don't have to take my words for it. Just do a search and read some of Michael Chaho's past findings comparing the PT630 to MW200G 95. Stop paying ridiculous prices for old used racquets! jeez!

Oh btw.. they have the Microgel Prestiges..

But I would wait for TW to stock them.. their customer service is terrible.
