Nick, how do you like the 3 teeth clamps? is the size okay? Does the string sit/lay in the clamp well?

They are great...very similar to the babolat star/sensor clamps. The string sits in the clamps very well...I havent had any issues with strings slipping or the clamps marking strings. I strung on a Bab Sensor machine for a year and the Eagnas clamps are very similar IMO (not as good quality but do the same job).

Its a great machine...its had problems yes but they were sorted quick under the warranty.

The clamps are great...mouting system very very secure and the tension head is very quick/accurate.

Happy Birthday, I still don't have enough confidence in Eagnas so I am going to get myself an Apex II even thought it is not my Birthday!

PS- My parents are buying it for me. Except I only get 2 rackets and I have to pay for string.

The Apex is a nice machine!

Over here in the UK there is next to no choice so that machine is the best I could get really..

its a pro's pro xp plus.

1012007, please dont mock the pro's pro brand again. there is nothing wrong with their machines or strings. True, their heaper offerings are poor, but the same can be said of major string brands! i can highly recommend the xp plus if you are looking for an upgrade to your current machine.

I dont mock Pro's pro just am very wary of buying anything from them as many people have had machines from them with an endless list of problems.
The price is appealing but then it probably justifies the lack of quality.

I mean a Wise 2086 + Pro's Pro Challenger 2 base for just over £500. Not bad for UK prices but many have said the base cant handle the CP of the wise

me and ben both have the same machine. they are fine no problem.. i have strunger over 450 rackets on it no probs its fine with the wise.

What do you mean CP?

I have used my XP Plus for nearly a year now, i have had no problems at all. Worth evry penny I spent on it and more. I string a fair few rackets and it has coped extremely well.

Apparently you can take out the clamps etc from the base etc?

Saw one on Watdon for around £500 with tax etc Wise with challenger 2 base.

I searched wise on google and read people having problems with the wise on eagnas, pro's pro machines

Yeh, i have seen the Challenger/Wise combo on Watdon. Looks good and at a great price.

I wouldnt worry about the clamps not coping with the CP, as drop weights do have CP. The force of gravity never stops.

What is your MSN?

I think he meant when you have tensioned and clamped a CP will still pull more, and the clamps might not be able to hold it.

I'm off, we can continue the debate some other time ;)
