Safina's Impact on Safin?

Does anyone here think that Safina's run to the French final will start a small sibling rivalry and possibly motivate Marat to get his game back together?

Switch back to decaf....no offense though I love Marat. Unfortunately he is too unpredictable to win 2 majors in a row.

I was being sarcastic,I don't think Marat has any slams left in him.He may pull off a good run or two in one of the hardcourt slams(AO and USO)if he gets a good draw before he's done but that's about it.

I love watching him play at his finest so it's tough to see him tank in these majors. No matter what anyone says I rather watch him serve all day over Roddick anytime.

No. Because Safin is much better looking that his sister so he is easily distracted by the beautiful women instead of focusing on tennis. Safina in contrast, probably doesn't get much male attention outside of her tennis play so she's gonna be the more focused of the two and have much less outside factors leading her astray. Result : Safina works harder at her game and thus achieves better results. I mean if I were in Safin's position, I probably couldn't get my mind on tennis all day either given the luxuries of living a famed, wealthy, easy life.

Safin was so excited with his sister success that he sent her a text message saying "well done". :)

And he is not coming to watch the finals. Couldn't be bothered too much. Paris is so far away from England.

Oh, yet another "The Second Coming of Safin" thread.

Tiring.
Uh, you mean the third. The second coming was when he won the Aussie Open. First was obviously beating Pete for the U.S.. We need to get this third out of the way so work can start on the fourth.

Q.Will Marat sit next to their mother in the stands on Saturday?

A.“He is in England, so no,” said Safina, whose eyes sparkled with emotion when she added: “But if it’s live on TV, of course he will watch it.”

I can't believe this. Come on Marat, you can do better than that. It's your little sister's first Grand Slam final and you can't come to Paris because you are a couple hours away doing what?

Well what did you expect ? He is wussy enough on court. Like now, he has to come watch some girls play tennis ? Lol.

Anyways Dinara's big brother is 29 and if he was 19 Id say he may take something from this. But let's face it, he is helpless.

I think marat has 1 or 2 majors in him... just depends how deep he's willing to dig to get them
People on this board have been saying this for years (his last major was 3 1/2 years ago)...hey, just give him another 10 or 12 years and maybe...just maybe, then he'll fine the wherewithal to take another major.
