So its time to put together another BBQ. Hopefully before the holiday weekend.

So lets throw out some dates. Location will be decided after we get a date.

Aug 16th?
Aug 23rd?
Aug 30th?

Like last time, it will be a pot luck situation. Anyone know of a great park with a nice grill area, that would be ideal.

really nice critique. i agree with your assessment. flashy looks great and gets all the lesbian chicks but consistency and solid play works everytime. it'd be interesting to see them play a set and see which play reigns supreme - iron chef style.

bad news. 60GB is about to die. turned it on and it's making a low pitched noise. transfer rate is also unstable.

good news: found you a 10GB that's low leveling right now. drive looks good. also should be big enough for kids unless you are trying to hide porn away from your suspecting wife.

i don't know what you are talking about sappy. this is a PG rated thread. i think we should keep this about tennis only. it's only about the tennis. nothing else.

Sup -- you wanna shoot for a Sat morning or Sun morning tennis session somewhere? could be at least 3 of us with you, Sap and EZRA. any other takers?

*edit* ahh crap. i cannot commit to any tennis. i am merely a bystander.

How about early early Saturday morning (tomorrow), so its not as hot, and you can get back to your family before the first cheerio is poured.

I can't remember off the top of my head if there are BBQ grills there, but I suggest Bluemont Park off Wilson Blvd. There is a boatload of covered picnic tables, bathrooms, vending machines in case, water fountains, 10 tennis courts recently resurfaced with the blue/green USO colors, all courts are lighted, there is plenty of parking, baseball field, close to Ballston metro, walking paths, it is in Arlington, there are even two extra courts across the street, trees, winged wildlife, bunnies, trash cans, guys who scream "AWAY" when the ball goes close to the lines, etc.

Actually, we were going to try a battle of the backhands if Auzzie wasn't able to make it.

Playing HW would be fun.

Where I see he has the big edge is the Sampras-like serve that he can crack. He aced me three times in a row with a Dr. Ivo type angle. Them "janks" bounced about 4 feet in front the service line and kept going before I even moved.

That match would come down to if I was able to make a dent in his service game and I'm thinking: HW serve > JR Serve

Im not offering to sell my frames to ya or nothing, but It seems you enjoy hitting with the old school frames. I will continue luggin them out there for ya if you want. just lemme know when I will string them up nice and fresh. As long as Sup is not there to bash my strining abilities. I can see him tellin me the following

1- Those knots sucks
2- You should have put new gromments on thier
3- rthose knots suck
4- you should really use a stencil to give it that pro look
5- New gromments would have been a plus
6- man those knots are atrocious

I cant do crap this weekend becasue I will be at a baseball game in harrisburg. The 193 Special Operations Wing is having a family day. Which means i will be defending your guys' freedom this weekend by chugging 5 dollar beers at a baseball game. I may even get some crabs afterwards :)


And for the que, i can make some pretty good crab dip, or some potato salad. Of course Hollywood makes nothing without the addition of JO. i will try to keep usage to mere mortal levels so that others may enjoy :)

i think i'm good on memory. i picked up a 19 inch CRT monitor at a yard sale for $1. hahaha. it weighs a fricking ton. i find it hard to believe we used to have these on our desks. ahh the good ole days.

there's a huge difference between not committing vs bailing. i was alway on the maybe list for thursday while you were committed to go even 30mins prior to hollywood leaving.

how much are you selling your 3200s for JRS?? i have some 3200s and i'm willing to let it go for $1 less than absol| yours|.. :)

Damn you!!! I need to find market price for it. Figure should put it up on thee--bay. I upgraded and bought 2 gigs which is currently in my PC, but FRAK!!! DDR ram is so freaking expensive.

Prob gut my PC this December, new motherboard, CPU, new GPU, and much cheaper DDR2.

GPU - (Either 8800GT or Radeon 4850) $120-$175
Ram (4 gigs) - $100
Total for upgrade - about $575

An inspiron 530 with similar specs is about $749 unless you to have some mad sneaky ways with Dell. I'm all ears.

****, it was a busy morning... why the hell does Russia have to start a war with Georgia on the same morning I have a huge hangover from drinking the night before?!?! :mad:

Drinking in Old Town + drinking in Rosslyn + drinking in Clarendon = Huge hangover in TheJRK's condo.

As far as a BBQ goes...
16th - No, unless it's around 3:30pm (Combo match at 2:30pm)
23rd - No, unless it's around 12:00pm (Combo match at 5:00pm)
30th - Yes

I'll see if we can rent the tennis courts/game room/party room at my place.

*Of course all this depends on whether or not I go to Vegas during those dates.*

Sappy - I said I would go to the Legg Mason on the 14th.

Sup/TFM - I'd be down to hit on Saturday... oh ****, you guys are playing out in BFE (by the way, half-asian lives in Germantown as well), that's too far for TheJRK. Remember, if I can't get somewhere in 30 minutes I say f**k it.

If anyone wants to hit this weekend (not in Germantown), let me know. :)

ankle is getting better by the day... today I hit me against two good players. Wasn't able to run everything down, but i was able to at least keep up. I still don't quite trust it fully, but it is much better than earlier in the week.

Good to hear the ankle is feeling better. I don't know what I did to my knee, but it's been feeling stiff when I get up after sitting down for a long time. Feels fine in the morning and when I walk or get warmed up, but it feels weird if I sit for too long.
